Doctor's POV:
The Doctor watched as Willow bounced down the stairs of the building, her curls dancing fervently with her.
"I put your bag in the first hallway on the left," he told her before going inside the TARDIS.
Willow followed after him, and she seemed to be taken aback by the TARDIS all over again.
"How big is this place exactly?" she asked, eyes shining.
The Doctor quirked his head. "I don't know, very big I suppose."
"Hm," Willow hummed and took a seat on the chair. "Before we go anywhere, can I go back home? Just for a second. I'm craving ice cream."
She smiled softly and looked at him.
The Doctor couldn't help but grin back. The day they had first met, they'd gone to the ice cream parlor Willow and her father used to always go to. He flipped the lever on the TARDIS and landed in front of Willow's house in a matter of seconds.
Willow dashed to the TARDIS' door and gestured to the direction of her house. "Gotta say bye to mom, obviously. Well, I guess it's not that necessary with the whole time machine situation," she grinned before adding, "You should come though."
The Doctor stepped back with resignation. "I'll be fine here, really," he said, dismissing the offer. He didn't want to cause any confusion, or turn the whole thing into a... family trip.
Willow shrugged. "Suit yourself." She winked and ran out the door.
Willow's POV:
"Willow, what are you doing here?"
"Wow, thanks mom, I'm doing great," Willow said sarcastically, squeezing past her mother and into the house.
"Hey Rob," she greeted her mother's boyfriend who was sitting on the couch.
"Hey Willow," he replied with a smile.
Willow planted her hands on her fist and grinned cheekily at her mom, who in turn raised her brow at her daughter's unusually kind behavior.
"Sorry. I just wasn't expecting you to come here today," she finally said.
"I've gotta keep you on your feet," Willow said, wringing her hands together. Not knowing what else to say, she threw her arms around her mom and hugged her tightly. "I love you."
"Woah, woah woah," her mother exclaimed with a nervous laugh. "What's this for?"
Willow buried her head deeper into her mother's afro. "A daughter can't give her sweet mother a hug once in a while?"
"Not you," her mother replied with a smile. "But I'll make an exception today."
Willow released her and pouted her lips. "Thanks."
"Rob and I were about to go out for lunch," she said as Rob stood and took her hand. "A girl came by a few minutes ago. She said she was a friend of yours. I kinda sorta directed her up to your old bedroom."
Willow's eyes widened with confusion. "Mom!""What?" Her mother threw up her hands in defense. "I thought you actually had a friend around here!"
She shook her head and mumbled something about "being too dramatic" before walking out the door.
Willow dragged her hands down her face before rushing up the stairs. She cautiously went to her bedroom door before flinging it open.
"What the hell, Ruby!" Willow shouted.
