What?! Ano daw?!
Yeah?!
Tama ba yon or am I just hearing things? Lq raw kami?! Were not even together!! And.. and I don't even know his name! Should I ask him? Oh gosh, no. Minsan di ko alam kung kakampi ko pa ba sarili ko eh. Ang nakakapag taka pa eh kung bakit niya binigay yung phone niya kay kuyang butchero. Close sila ganon?
When he successfully handed his phone lumayo na rin siya agad sakin. And I just couldn't help but to burst out my thoughts.
"Anong yeah?! Tayo Lq?? Di naman tayo mag kasama! I don't even know your name!" I almost shouted at him.
Lalong kumunot ang noo ko nang sabay silang napatingin sakin na para bang isa akong baliw na nag sasalita mag isa. What?!
"Uh, so you want to know my name?" he smirked. And kuyang butchero just continued to type something on his phone.
"The heck?! Of course not! No! Never! Pakielam ko ba kung Jose o Alejandro o Maximilliano panggalan mo! I don't care! Kaya wag mo isipin na gusto ko malaman name mo ! Because my answer would always be no!!" frustrated 'kong sabi.
"Uh sir Austin eto na po yung phone niyo." he awkwardly said.
Wow! Just wow!
Masama ko siyang tinignan kaya takot din siyang napatingin sakin. I think he was just a little older than us based on his features. He's slightly taller than me. His hair was black and his eyes were round. His nose was pointed and his lips were thin but pink.
"Salamat ho Kuya Max." Austin politely said.
Ano?! Max yung panggalan non? I think nasabi 'ko yung name na yon kanina! Parang gusto ko na lang mag bukas yung lupa jusko papakain ako ng buong buo!!
"Ano ka ba, tol! Ayos lang yon. Alam mo namang gusto ko rin ang mga ganyan. Pero walang halong biro ah, nahirapan rin ako diyan sa last question!"
And that hit me. Ha! Lq means Last question!! Why are you so dumb Olivia!! Nag karon na naman ba ng pakpak yang utak mo at lumipad nanaman?!
"Sige ho! Mauuna na po ako."
And he walked away. He did not even looked at me!
"Ma'am eto na po yung pinaslice niyo."
"Mag kakilala ho kayo?" I just couldn't help it.
"Ah si sir Austin?" I nodded at that.
"Oho. Lagi siyang namimili rito. May isang pag kakataon lang na nakita 'kong may mga tanong siyang binabasa sa telepono niya. Hindi naman sa pinakikielaman ko siya e sadyang nabasa ko iyon at alam ko ang sagot." So hindi lang pala ako ang unang nakielam sa pagiging seryoso niya sa mga ginagawa niya sa phone niya. Ganon ba siya lagi?
"Sige ho. Salamat!"
Nilapag ko ang paper bags sa kitchen nang makarating ng condo. Hindi ko na muna masyado pinag tuunan ng pansin ang lalaki kanina because I still need to cook dinner dahil mamaya ay may bisita kami ni kuya. Well, kasama ni kuya of course.
I'll cook shrimp fettuccine alfredo and prepare a salad. Mabilis lang ito lutuin kaya ito na lang ang pinili ko. I still need to make myself presentable para naman hindi nakakahiya mamaya.
It was almost 5 o'clock when I started cooking the pasta. My brother already texted me that they would be here at 7.
Kaya after 'kong lutuin 'to tsaka ako maliligo. Like what I've said mabilis lang talaga lutuin itong pasta kaya sinimulan ko na gawin ang salad. I finished at 6, just the right time so I could take a quick shower.
I wore a maroon off shoulder dress ending above my knee paired with a white slip on sandals. I tied my hair into a low bun with a few strands of my hair at the sides of my face. I also put a little bit of makeup so that I won't look pale. Then I heard a ring coming from our doorbell. It must be them.
I kissed the cheek of my brother when I opened the door and beside him was a slim short haired girl. She was wearing a black sleeveless skater dress paired with white flats. I smiled at her. She looks really shy and I was really surprised by that. I actually thought she would be mature or I don't really know. I just didn't expect her to be like this. Parang hindi makabasag pinggan.
We started eating and this girl was surprisingly quiet. Huh. I was waiting for my brother to formally introduce me to her but I think that he was still looking for the right time. This girl is super quiet kasi. Hirap basahin. It was kinda awkward too. She just wouldn't speak up and it bothers me.
"Hey, is the food nice?" I asked breaking the silence.
The girl looked at me shyly. "Uh, y-yeah." she smiled a bit.
"Uh, Liv, this is Amelia,the girl I am courting. Amelia, this is Olivia, my sister." finally my brother spoke.
"Hi! You can call me Liv." I smiled at her.
"Uhm, hello! I'm Amelia but you can call me Lia or Cleo w-whatever you want actually." she smiled shyly and looked at her hands under the table.
"Wow! Cleo's a really nice name. Can I call you that?" I asked. It was a really good name.
"U-uh, sure!"
After that, we talked about her life and how my brother met her. I found out that they met because of a common friend. Also, she is older than my brother. Hindi lang halata. She doesn't talk a lot but when I ask her, she answers it quickly. It was like she already knew what I was going to ask or maybe she's just used to it.
The night went fast and now I'm already lying on my bed contemplating about the decisions I'm making in my life. When suddenly I thought about him. Austin. He doesn't look talkative nor approachable. However, he could easily make friends. Well, not that we're friends but I don't know. Why are people so hard to read nowadays.
I just know that there's something in him that I just couldn't figure out. The first time I met him I honestly thought he's mean or like arrogant. But when I approached him although he knew that I was there he actually didn't mind. He just let me. He was actually very mindful of his surroundings though he looks like he's not. The most important part is when he said the words, "Do I know you?" he surprisingly didn't sound rude. I was just the one who's very nervous that time.
It was actually very innocent. It was like he was really thinking if we have already met somewhere. Although he looks very arrogant and intimidating, when you really look into him and think about his gestures. It was innocent and somehow very uh, respectful. Except for his smirk last time though!
There was still a lot of questions on my mind but I just erased the thoughts and dozed off to sleep.
