Chapter 3: Training with Master Yoshiaki

(Tsubaki's POV)
- 7 months later -

It's been a whole 7 months since Master Yoshiaki has been training me, the first few days were me practicing how to handle a sword and swinging it with a thin yet sturdy bamboo stick --

I panted heavily, I was finally able to knock down a bamboo tree, I turned happily towards Master Yoshiaki who gave me a smile of approval and says "You did a great job, Tsubaki. I knew you could do it."

-- Then after that, he helped me work on my breathing and improving my lungs and stamina with running up and down from a mountain, which I like to call mountain training, of course with Master Yoshiaki's supervision since my dad wouldn't allow me to do it all on my own --

The air in the mountains was so thin, I could hardly breath as I run down the mountains. Master Yoshiaki runs along with me, encouraging me along the way "Come on, Tsubaki! If you want to be a strong Demon Slayer you must do this!" He says, I felt like passing out but I never gave up and was able to run back down the mountain

-- In between Mountain Training, Master Yoshiaki and I played a game that is used to improve my instincts which is important to have in being a Demon Slayer --

'Ugh, Where is he?' I thought to myself, trying to look around the forest for Master Yoshiaki. I heard light foot steps from behind me and got extra cautious, I was prepared to dodge Master Yoshiaki's attack

I heard Master Yoshiaki coming and dodged him quickly which resulted in me falling on the ground "Ouch..." I said, Master Yoshiaki approached me and helped me up "That was some improvement! Great job." He smiles, I nod and lightly smile at him

-- As my skills improved drastically, Master Yoshiaki then gave me a katana with the permission of my parents --

"Alright, Tsubaki, I'll show you how to do a clean cut on this bamboo right here." Master Yoshiaki says, he slightly kneels forward, hand on his sword, also known as a Nichirin Blade, he gives the bamboo a clean cut, my eyes widen and was really impressed "Now, with your katana, why don't you try it." I got my katana out and did the same thing Master Yoshiaki did then tried to give the bamboo a clean cut but my katana didn't even go through, I sigh but Master Yoshiaki puts his hand on my shoulder "It's alright, you're still new so it'll take a while." He smiles and I nod in agreement "Yeah."

-- But since Master is still a Demon Slayer, he goes off onto mission from time to time leaving me to train by myself and sometimes I bring along my brothers to watch me too --

"Wow, Tsubaki's so cool!" Takumi says all excited and hyper, Takeru and Tsutomy nod in agreement to Takumi's remark of my skills as I laugh it off

-- Today is actually when Master Yoshiaki's returns from his latest mission, he even said that we'll be learning a new lesson today, I wonder what it is...

"Tsubaki! Tsubaki! Mr. Yoshiaki is here!" The triplets say in unison, I got all excited and came running downstairs "Master!" He smiles at me and pats my head "How have you been?" He asks "I'm doing great! I was also almost able to cut through a bamboo!" I exclaimed "That's great!" Master Yoshiaki says "Alright now, before you two go off to train, Let's eat!" My mom says, we nodded and went off to eat before training.

Master Yoshiaki and I are now in the nearby forest where I usually train, we sat down near a small creek as he began to speak "So, today we will be finally learn about Breath Styles." I perked up, I remember when we first met, he told me he used a Breath Style called Breath of Wind "And as you may recall from our first meeting, I use Breath of Wind though it's not the most basic breath style but I have studied other breath styles before so I shall tell you more of them." He says and clears his throat as I payed full attention

"There is Breath of Flames, Breath of Water, Breath of Stone and Breath of Thunder." He exclaims "So, Tell me Tsubaki, which one do you plan on mastering?" He asks me which makes me excited "I want to learn Breath of Wind!" I said, Master Yoshiaki looks at me worriedly "Are you sure? It's not the easiest breath style to master..." He exclaims, I nod and said "It's okay! With you I can Master anything!" Master's eyes widened but then turned soft and smiled "Alright, Tsubaki. Training of that starts tomorrow. For now let's do some mountain training." He says, walking up the mountain "Yes, Master Yoshiaki!"
