Even after walking all the way home, you could not shake the fear away, which had been hugging your heart tightly. Sure, you had seen other planets with disgusting cultures, from sacrificing cats for new-born babies to forcing little boys into wedlock with older women, but never like this. Not where they judged you for being disturbed by their violence. Where they judged you for your own nature, simply for being human.

While kicking your shoes off inside the house, your husband made his appearance. Great.

Arms crossed over his slightly buff chest, his eyes narrowed down at the way you were taking your jacket off.  "Grocery shopping?" he asked with a hint of played curiosity. "Hm?" you hummed, eyes shortly making contact with his until it finally hit you. You didn't go grocery shopping. "Oh!" the anxiety of getting caught lying made your heartbeat jump up. "Funny story," you laughed forcefully as you threw the jacket on the hanger, "I couldn't find the convenience store and got lost."

"Don't try to lie to me. You watched the show as well, didn't you?" He questioned before taking the flesh of his bottom lip between his teeth, "Did you see it?"

As you frowned his way, he took a step forward and he lowered his voice, "You heard it too, right?" He took your silence as his answer, the side of his lips quirking up into a sly smirk as he towered over you. "His neck." He whispered while his hand stroked your neck softly, "Snapped in two."

His cold fingers wrapped around your neck in seconds, exactly the way the mehricobenian had done to the now dead candidate. His hold was tight enough to block your actions, but not tight enough to stop you from breathing. A whimper was all you managed to choke out, desperately trying to push the male off of you, who seemed unbothered. Instead, he let out a laugh so cruel, you had to blink away your tears to see him properly. "Can't wait to meet the new president."

He let you go, slightly pushing you back against the wall behind you and you gasped for air. You tried to avoid making any kind of eye-contact as you pushed your way into the living room. Beomseok took a firm grip on your right arm, pulling you close to him. His eyes scanned your whole body, lingered at your fingers which were nervously fiddling around and he definitely noticed your shaking knees. A smirk made up his way and he pushed you away a little.

Then he laughed once more. Cackled out loud.

Baffled, you tried to ease the faint pain in your arm by massaging it with your hand. "What's so funny?"

"You went your way and lied to me, and then you ended up getting scared. Didn't you?" You frowned, trying to come up with something. How is he so good at reading people? "I can't bring myself to be mad at you now. You got what you deserved."

Boiling up, you wanted to do nothing more but to scream at him. Slap his face and gladly take off the single-diamond ring, which was by the way too tight for your size. Yet, he was already bored by your presence, already headed towards the kitchen to grab a drink.
