"Morgan," Raphi threw open the door to the room where Morgan was studying. Morgan instinctually rolled her chair away from the desk and put up her hand. She looked at Raphi with an expression of equal surprise and worry. "Oh, I'm sorry I didn't mean to scare you. Well, I kinda did, but I more wanted to surprise you than scare you. Like surprise! It's Raphi! I feel like I haven't seen you in forever. Well, it's really only been a day but you know time doesn't fly when you're not having fun, right? Does that make sense? Time doesn't not fl-"
"Raphi," Morgan was still trying to calm down from her scare, "breath."
Raphi took a deep exaggerated breath. "Sorry, I just- I had something to ask you," Raphi scrunched his face trying to remember.
"Did we have plans today?" Morgan tried to jog his memory.
"Yes! If you're not too busy with smart people college stuff."
"Eh," Morgan closed her textbook and stretched her arms, "I could use a study break. What did you have in mind?"
"Well, I was thinking we should write a comic book!" Morgan opened her mouth to speak but Raphi interrupted, "wait before you say anything just think about it. We're both really good uh drawers? No, we're good artists, right, and you write great stories."
Morgan couldn't help but smile at her incredibly excitable friends. "I think that's an awesome idea. Let's brainstorm."

"Morg!" Ray heard Joey call out as he walked into the living room. He was shirtless and his hair was wet. He looked great, so great that Ray was blushing just from seeing him.
"I'm not Morgan but," Ray was trying their hardest not to stare but they hadn't seen Joey shirtless many times before, and even though the chest and abs were fun to look at Ray was mostly focused on the fresh, dark purple bruises all over his torso, "I could help with whatever you need."
"Yes, you can!" Joey's immediate, bright smile upon seeing Ray made their heart skip a beat.
"What's up with all the," Ray gestured at Joey's bruised abdomen, trying to avoid his eyes.
"Oh, these are all old scars. Um," Joey started pointing to his faded scars, "broken collar bone, this is from when Dustin sta-"
"No, Joey I know about the old scars, I'm asking you about the new bruises."
"Right, that's from- did you know if you move enough in your sleep you can just fall off your bed? That's crazy right?" Joey laughed, rubbing the marks, a little bit embarrassed.
Ray just shook their head. "Every day you amaze me, Joey Jones."
"Thanks! But anyway, I have a date," Ray's stomach dropped. "Do you think you could help me get ready? You'll probably be more help than Morgan with the date thing. Mat says you go on a lot of dates."
"Matthew said that?" Ray raised their eyebrows and clenched their fist.
"Oh, I thought that was a good thing, sorry. Anyhow, wanna help?" Joey asked.
And of course, despite their better judgment, Ray said yes.

"Yeah, James is gonna be a great dad but I know I'll have to be the mean parent." Mateo and Ryan sat together in the kitchen just chatting.
"You could just not have kids," Ryan played with her hair idly, bored of the baby talk.
