- Four Years Later -
I was practicing swordplay when Sapphire rushed in. I've gotten very good at listening and know who and when they are coming. Sapphire moved over and talked with the duel master. I could hear their conversation still.
It sounded like:
"Cris said...... Luna... Called...... Time......to move....sister...all."
Luna! The lady! She must have contacted Cris. I think what Sapphire said was:
"Cris said that Luna had called.... Time to move on...... Sister after all that." Maybe? I still can't figure out some parts, but I will. After her quick conversation, she pulls me over and tells me to go to Cris.
Then I get a quest.
"Ahem. Veronica, you are 12 now. All members of this camp get a quest, or task, they are to complete . You must go, with 2 other companions, to Mount Draj and kill the monster that lives there."
OK. Well that wasn't so bad. I have learned that this is not a camp for the blind but for children with... special abilities. Most people got a quest. Most returned.
"Who will you bring?" Chris asks.
Huh. Well, I have a friend called Jamie who joined a few weeks after I came here. I would bring her. Who else?
"Well, I'm bringing Jamie..." I said. "Who else?"
"Someone has volunteered." Cris said, and whistled. A girl called Abigail walked into the office.
I wondered why she would volunteer. Didn't matter. We have our quest, and we will fulfill it.
