Days and week passed by, the city was no longer recognisable with all the dark and gloomy atmosphere it has been acclimatized to. People were turning into subjects of the witch. It felt almost like the city was dismantled from every bits and corner, soulless fellow man, bats and creatures flying all accross the streets yet some of us managed to escape from the parish that day.
Even though I had lost much on that horrendous day, I couldn't lose what I was left with. The demands of the witch were unknown, she was one evil thing with a motive and to know that we had to get into her tower. Getting anywhere near her was rather playing with death but it was my choice to save everything I am left with. I knew that there was no going back.
We were staying about fifty kilometres away from the main town in an abandoned vale. Everything we made here has been a scrap before. From the bamboo cottage to the leafy food we had to survive, life was more miserable than that. The only sane individuals left, the four of us - Zath, Ezra, Audrian and me. Every today was more intense than every yesterday knowing that either the witch could win and take over the place or us.
Zath can be a little too much ill humored sometimes but he is really good at potions. Ezra is the only female member in our batch but she outdoes the three of us, she is dedicated and hard to catch. Audrian masters the craft of swordplay and teaches us every minute detail. I knew we weren't enough to bring the witch down but a little motivation and a lot of self determination can increase the chances. We have been practicing for weeks, dwelling in the abandoned village surely raged the wrath in us to defenestrate the witch.
It was time, time right enough to take the first step to fight the unholy bad witch. All we needed was a plan, a plan to overpower the witch, to know what she desired.
