The spear crashed into the ground and quaked like thunder. That was the second attack Arcan managed to avoid from his master.
"Young master Arcan you can't continue to dodge forever you must also be ready to strike and take advantage of any opening in front of you"
"Easier said than done Master Raven, with every opening given is one given on my part as well should I fail"
Master Raven with a sigh: "young master you are able to handle others so masterfully with your dexterity and strategy but what you need to be able to do is strike and be willing to take the risk of losing something to gain something more from it"
Arcan frowns: Master it's easier said than done I am a Beast Tiv I transform into a powerful beast to combat my enemies but you have me sitting here using a dagger
Master Raven: There will come a day where you will come to understand on your own why I placed that dagger in your hand but for now lets see you do something aside from dodging
And with that Raven dashed at him with constant piercing attacks while Arcan steadily continued to avoid them. dagger in hand as he looked for opening in the pull back and release from the spear. The problem however was discerning the fakes from the real ones but before he could find the right place to attack his master suddenly swung the spear outward causing Arcan to flip backwards avoiding the wide swing but before he could flip upward he was stopped in his tracks by a blade sitting at his neck.
Arcan shaken up by the situation: you mean to tell me that-
Master Raven with a smirk: The spear had a hidden blade inside when you separate the two ends that is correct.
Arcan: But why-
Master Raven- Didn't I tell you what the spear could do, that's because you're enemies won't come with a manual. with all their abilities on file so finding a solution and preparing for the unexpected is a core lesson in the art of combat.
Arcan with a heavy sigh: I understand master Raven and I will take those words to heart
Raven smiled. It seemed like it was only yesterday that he was training an 8 year old boy in the art of strategy and combat. And now he's starting to see the results in this 16 year old boy in-front of him.
Raven after helping the young man to stand up: Young master you have to learn to be more assertive and willing to take risks. You're enemies won't wait for you to form a strategy to defeat them
Arcan: I know master Raven it's just that my confidence in using this dagger compared to my transformation I just can't-
But before Arcan can continue to complain to his master, heavy footsteps are heard as someone starts to approach the court yard
Arcan turns to see his father enter from behind the curtains like a towering beast standing at a height of 6'3. The overseer of transport for the region of Chaos was Lycan Steelfang. Upon making eye contact Arcan Bowed down immediately, master Raven started walking up from behind him. stood next to Arcan and Started bowing down as well.
Master Raven: glad to see that you're in good health Master Lycan
Lycan: As to you Raven glad to see that you are doing well and that Arcan is taking well to your instructions.
Master Raven shakes his head and sighs: no in all honestly I've come to understand more from him then he has from me his growth is a pride and treasure
Lycan nods his head and smiles: that is true my son is quite a treasure to be proud of. Now then Arcan listen well, an upper class noble is coming here to talk about trade investments from the Imperial region so make sure that once they arrive you will be dressed and ready to receive them
