There comes a time when two people simply fall out of love with each other. There was no more sparks, no more excitement, and it all just seemed like a chore to continue being with that person. That was what was happening to Harry and Y/N.
They both knew that they weren't in love anymore, but they didn't speak of it. Even though they both acknowledged the fact that they were falling out of love, they both knew that letting go of each other would hurt so much. They've been together for seven whole years now, but sometimes things just aren't meant to be.
There wasn't much talking anymore. No smiles or laughs like how it used to be. No more cuddling or holding each other at night. They barely saw each other throughout the day. There wasn't no more breakfast, lunch, nor dinner together. No kisses and hugs. It sucked, but it was happening.

You sighed as you got up from the cold, empty bed. You were getting tired of this, but you didn't know how to speak on it at all. You and Harry both knew that y'all weren't in love anymore, yet you two were still so scared to let go of each other. You couldn't imagine your life without Harry in it. He was your first love, your best friend.
You took a quick warm shower before walking down the stairs and into the kitchen.
"Oh, Harry! You scared me, what are you doing home? Do you not have work today?" You asked, making your way to the coffee maker.
"No, I called off because I needed to talk to you," Harry replied back in a monotone.
You felt butterflies erupt in your stomach, becoming nauseous by the second. Your heart was pounding as you have been expecting for this day to come.
"Yes, what about?" You say, taking a seat across from him on the island.
"Y/N, don't act like you don't know," He said, looking down at his hands as he fumbled with it.
You took a deep breath as sadness took over your body, "I love you, Harry," You quietly trembled each word out as a tear rolled down your eyes.
"No, love, don't cry," Harry frowned, quickly making his way over to you and engulfing you in a hug.
You started to cry harder as you wrapped your arms tightly around him, inhaling the sweet scent of him that you once fell in love with. The heat that screamed home from him was radiating off onto you, and lastly his arms. The same arms that used to hold you at night and engulf you in a big hug when coming home from work.
"I just miss you so much," You mumbled into his shoulder, not ever wanting to let him go.
"I know, sweets. I miss you as well," He replied, his voice cracking a bit. You knew he was hurting as well.
"How did we ever come to this," You question, pulling away slightly and looking at his beautiful teary and puffy eyes.
"I really don't know," Harry sighed, closing his eyes and pressing his forehead against yours, taking a deep breath as you did the same.
You two stayed like that for awhile, wanting to make up all the time you two wasted, but you knew that you could never make up that time again, so you both stayed quiet and tried to take everything in before it's all gone and gets taken away.
You opened your eyes, seeing that Harry still had his eyes closed, small tears streaming down his face. The man whom you once love, and forever will love no matter what, was in front of you, breaking, as you were doing the same in front of him.
You closed your eyes and smashed your lips onto his, wanting to taste his lips forever. No words could have explained how heartbroken you two were at this moment.
A kiss that was mixed between salty tears, heart break, and lastly, all the love that was still left in you two.
"I don't want to let you go,"
But you knew he had to. You had to as well. Love can't go on if the two people in it aren't in love with each other anymore. And no matter how much that broke your heart, that was life. Sometimes, things just don't work out. Things are you and Harry.

A/N:
My heart was breaking when I wrote that. To fall out of love with someone hurts so much.
