"Link....Link....Link..." Zelda said "Open your eyes," Link's eyes burst open, surprising Zelda, but then she giggled. She walked over to their things and grabbed a new pair of clothing for Link. She then put them on his bed, "I'm planning on making something, but I will need your help. Hurry up and change." Zelda added, walking away. Link looked over, confused, but happily obeyed.
"I'm ready," Link said, excited. Zelda looked over, calmly. Suddenly, her eyes then bulged wide. Link looked behind him but there was nothing there. "What is wrong, princess?"
"Your.....hair...." Was all Zelda could say. She rushed towards Link and sat him on a chair. She then grabbed her brush and took out Link's messy ponytail. She began to brush it. Link was in total shock. He wasn't sure how to react so he didn't do anything. "There." Zelda said, pleased with her work.
"Thank you, princess...?" Link said, still a bit confused. He then looked towards the table Zelda had been leaning on and saw 4 eggs."Good choice of breakfast, princess." Link said, "Grab some rock salt from the bowl on that counter, Zelda." Zelda walked over and grabbed the rock salt. She ran after Link, who had already been walking towards the pot.
"Firstly, princess, would you put some butter into the pot and spread it around? We don't want the eggs to stick." Link asked, setting their things down on the grass. Zelda plopped some butter into the pot and spread it around with the spatula she found near the salt. Link nodded, "Next, we put the eggs in. You do 2 of them, and I will do the other 2." Link then handed Zelda her eggs and she broke them over the pot. Link followed shortly after.
"Good job, Zelda." Link said, satisfied with what they had done so far, "Next, we are going to break the yolk and make it all one color. He took the spatula from Zelda and shook it in the pan. It looked like soup. Zelda watched intently. Once it was all mixed, Link placed the spatula down, "We wait for a minute or so while the bottom cooks." Zelda nodded. Once the side began to sizzle, Link grabbed the spatula and put it in Zelda's hand, "Together." Link said, taking Zelda's wrist, guiding her to flip the egg around. Once it was flipped, Link let go, "Good job!" Link gave Zelda a thumbs up.
"Thanks, Link." Zelda said, flustered on what just happened. They waited in silence as the eggs cooked. Once it started to sizzle, Zelda took the eggs with the spatula and placed it onto a plate that had been given to them by the stable owner. Zelda then split it in half and placed the other half onto another plate for Link, "Here ya go." Zelda said enthusiastically as she handed the plate to Link.
"Thank you, princess." Link said as he took the plate and began eating, "Oh, almost forgot the rock salt." He said, breaking the rock salt and drizzling it over his eggs, then handing it to Zelda. Zelda drizzled some on hers then sat it down.
"This is nice..." Zelda said, sighing, "The eggs are delicious." She added, plopping some more into her mouth. Link smiled at her as he continued to eat.
"So, I was thinking we should head to Kakariko Village as our first destination to see Impa...sound ok to you?" Link asked, finishing his plate, "Also, if we leave around now, we can make it there by noon." He added, taking Zelda's empty plate to wash. Zelda nodded, thinking of Impa. She was there for her as a child and was her good friend. She meant everything to Zelda, "Well then, let's go." Link said, returning. Zelda then stood and brushed off her dress.
"I'll go ahead and grab our things while you saddle up Epona." Zelda said, walking back into the stable. Link nodded and walked over to the pen. He then grabbed their saddle and opened the gate. He proceeded to saddle up Epona, giving her a couple of apples and a carrot for her breakfast.
Zelda walked towards the stable, running her fingers on the rough wooden wall as she walked past them. As she entered the room she and Link slept in last night, she couldn't stop thinking of him. She was confused about his reaction to seeing her. Not too surprised, more relieved. She grabbed their things and left, still puzzled.
