Beep Beep! Beep Beep! Morgan's alarm clock seemed to scream in her ear. She turned over and hit the snooze button. "Just five more minutes.." She moaned groggily, checking her watch. "Wait...eight thirty-five?! I'm going to be late!" She cried, ripping her blankets off. Morgan ran to her wardrobe, throwing the doors open. She hastily pulled on a baggy white T-shirt and skinny jeans. That say was rather chilly, so she grabbed a simple black hoodie as well.

After she got dressed, Morgan slid down the stairs to breakfast. She likes hers simple, Cheerio's and milk with a sliced apple. Her older brother, Charlie, however, had a ham and cheese toastie with a caramel thickshake. "Charlie, you are so unhealthy. No girls are going to want to date someone with that diet, plus ham breath." Morgan rolled her eyes.

"Hey, it's not my fault you're a stick! How do you survive?" Charlie replied, mouth full of food. "Besides, I scored a date."

Morgan's mouth dropped. "Now way. With who?" She asked, putting down her spoon. "I reckon it's that other girl you dated off and on last year...Sarah?"

Charlie's triumphant expression only brightened. "Nope."

"Then WHO!?" Morgan was getting impatient. Charlie had dated three girls already this year, and it's only April.

"Kids, calm down! I'm on the phone!" Morgan's mother called from the kitchen.

"Jessica Hill, she's in my English class," Charlie smirked. He saw that Morgan had no idea who he was talking about. "You know, the girl with orange hair and glasses?"

Morgan nodded slowly. "Oh, her? I expected it to be Sarah again, but whatever. I'm already running late for school. I'll see you later. Bye, mum!" She called, grabbing her favourite book and school bag.

While she was running to bus stop, Morgan's phone buzzed. She slowed to a walking pace and checked her notifications. Charlie had texted her.

'Hey,' The text read. 'I forgot to tell you, there's a rumour that there's a new kid, they're in your year, too. People are saying that he/she is rich, too. Keep an eye out.'

'Ok, why?' Morgan texted back, paying her fare as she got on the bus. She found an empty seat toward the back and opened her book, Little Women. Morgan's favourite character was Jo, since she also loved reading.

Morgan's phone buzzed again. 'Jess wants to know. She's one of the gossips, and likes to know a lot.' Read Charlie's text. Morgan turned her phone off and continued reading her book until she was at school.

As she walked through the large iron gates, Morgan peered at the words on the archway over the gate. Okenfield High, It read. School of Success. Morgan rolled her eyes. Apart from installing the communal microwaves, this school succeeded in almost nothing.

When she got to the locker area, Morgan pulled open the door to Locker No. 104 and checked her timetable. "Wait, seriously? Maths first? Why, why why does it have to be maths!" She frowned. In the history of Okenfield High, nobody had seen a student fail so hard at maths, according to Mr. Tamer, Morgan's math teacher. Most of his students normally got above 80%, but Morgan constantly got below 30%, which outraged Mr. Tamer.

After she had collected her laptop and maths books, Morgan made her way to homeroom. There, she was greeted by her best (And only) friend, Amelié. Today, Amelié was sporting a floral blouse with jean shorts and a messy bun. Amelié probably had the most style that Morgan had ever seen, and came to school everyday with a new outfit.
