The Secret Kingdom

Preface

In a far away land, past the woods and the sea. There was a kingdom of great prosperity. The king and the queen lived there, everyday wishing for a son. On a very foggy night when the kingdom was asleep, a very old woman came to the castle. She called for the king and queen immediately saying that it was an emergency. The guards called for the king and queen and they rushed to meet the woman. They saw the woman and did not recognize her as one of their subjects. Seeing and understanding the confused expressions of the king and queen, the woman told them that she is not from around here, but she brings a prophesy for them. the king and quern listen. The old woman tells them that the the queen will soon give birth to two sons. The king and queen are so happy upon hearing this. But in order for her to give birth to them, they must agree to hide the castle from the eyes of the unneeded. That means that they no longer interfere with the outside world. Or step outside the castle grounds. If they do then they will face severe consequences. The king and queen agreed to everything saying that nothing is more important for them. If she wishes, they are willing to give up their castle just to have a son. The woman said that it would not be necessary. The woman started to walk out and halfway turned around to face the king and queen and said "the time starts now." the king and queen did not really understand what she meant by that, but before they could ask, the woman was gone. The king and queen went to bed after that.

The next morning, when the entire kingdom woke up, they saw that the castle had disappeared. Everyone gathered to find out where the castle was gone. They searched the grounds where the castle once laid and saw no evidence of a castle ever being there. All they saw was huge open land full of green grass, colorful flowers and a beautiful sparkling lake. But the weird thing was that there was no castle in site that homed there great King and Queen.
