When A.J was taken home, Desiree couldn't help but feel relief. A.J was from a well off, pureblood family who clearly made her mother uncomfortable, so she let out a breath when he disappeared in the floo.

She was sad though, that she couldn't meet her new little cousin, a little girl. No name was decided yet but A.J's father had said she already looked like a spit of her mother, which made them all smile.

He had promised to send over pictures as soon as everyone was settled back at home and the family of three happily waved him off.

By that time, a rythmic tap at their kitchen window pierced the silence. Desiree's Kneazle appeared, seemingly knowing when A.J had left.

Unfortunately, Aron had been kicked out into the garden due to A.J's severe allergy, so he stayed in his outside play tree for three days, something both Aron and Desiree were irritated by.

The Kneazle had the popular, common coloured fur of light grey-tinted-purple. His eyes were a knowledgeable blue and he had extra fluff on his snout, like a beard. Quite endearing since he was actually fairly young, coming towards his third birthday this summer.

Currently, Desiree was sifting through her Beauxbatons letter, stating all the neccesary items, which she had already bought, and giving the neccesary transportation, a portkey disguised as an old toothbrush.

Her uniform sat in the corner of her room on a light brown wrack, ironed and washed to perfection. She had put on many anti-sticking charms to stop Aron from transferring his copious amount of fur onto the light blue silk.

She was shaken from her trance when a sharp tapping came from her window, swirling around in her chair to see a pristine white owl tapping its sharp talons at the delicate glass.

She quickly unlatched the window, untying the letter from her leg and placing the owl in her empty birdcage, watching her devour the remaining food in the bowl.

The cursive on the front was so familiar that it made Desiree break out into a grin.

Dear Desiree,
How are you?
I have not heard from you in a long time and i am hoping you're faring well with all that has happened recently.

I must confess, it was disappointing not to see you at the Quidditch World Cup, but all i can do is express my relief that, in fact, you had not gone. I'm very grateful that you are safe and well in France.

I have spoke with my parents, they've agreed we can go to France next year, i can't wait to finally meet you! I only know what you look like from pictures but I'm so excited to see you in real life and be able to experience your culture!

I also wish you good luck on your final year and I have absolute confidence that you will do amazing.

Excited to hear from you soon
Hermione

P.s do you like Hedwig? Harry let me borrow her.

Desiree huffed a laugh, a finger stroking Hedwig's head.

"You are a pretty bird, aren't you?" Hedwig squarked lightly, clearly exhausted from her flight. "Rest nicely, pretty bird."

She closed the golden door of the birdcage, leaning over her desk to write back to Hermione.

Dear Hermione,
I hope you are not too shaken by the events of the World Cup, i was very lucky that my parents chose to not go.

Hedwig is a very pretty bird, she is resting presently, it is a long flight she has taken. I must also thank you for your well wishes, they a very appreciated.

I can not wait for you to see France, it is a beautiful country and there is so much to see. I would also like to come to Britain some day, London specifically. Your obsession with tea interests me.

Give my hellos to your family Hermione, from my understanding from previous letters you are staying with the Weasley Family? They sound like a rambunctious yet lovable lot. I have a feeling i would like them.

Looking forward to your swift reply,
Desiree

Folding the letter up neatly, the blonde leaned out the window slightly, looking towards the sky.

"Owlbert, bras," she held out her arm, jostling slightly when a giant, golden owl landed unceremoniously on her arm, almost tipping her out the window. "Owlbert Einstein, Careful!" She placed him delicately on his podium, using a ribbon to tie the letter around it's ankle. "Hermione, Owlbert, Hermione,"

Just as quickly as the golden-feathered bird appeared, it was gone, flying elegantly into the sky.

The door opened then, her dad entering the room.

"Chérie, you got everything ready for tommorow?"

The girl nodded, indicating towards the three trunks at the end of her bed.

"You do remember extention charms are a thing, right?" He questioned, raising a brow at the large size of each trunk.

Desiree grinned, taking her wand from her sleeve and sending a mild stinging hex towards him, one he easily dodged.

"Old man still got it!"
