Todoroki's POV
Next up was Yaoyorozu and Ashido. It was obvious from the start was going to win. Yaoyorozu was incredibly smart and powerful the chances of her losing to someone like Ashido would be impossible. Not that Ashido wasn't strong or anything, just not as strong as Yaoyorozu. People seem to underestimate her. Perhaps they don't expect much from her power-wise but constantly rely on her intelligence. It must be exhausting. Not that I don't completely understand. I've been the son of the number one hero for about two years now. That alone has been exhausting with the press. It also comes with the fact that I'm even more pressured to be the best. My father has always been a pain in my ass about expectations and all that. So I understand what she to go through in a way.
"You got this babe!" Kirishima shouted over the crowd as the fight began.
I couldn't disagree with him more. Yaoyorozu has this in the bag as they say. The look of focus and determination behind her dark eyes was incredible. It gave me a feeling of intensity, which lead to the uncomfortable feeling in my pants that I hardly felt. The sweatpants did a decent job of covering it but I covered it with my bag anyways. The last thing I needed to hear was my classmates asking and teasing about it.
As the two began their fight, I instantly thought about how worried she was. She seemed even less confident than last year. Was it because it was her last year? She couldn't really be worried about Ashido could she? I watch the battle intently waiting for one of them to get somewhere farther than their sparing. The whole time Kirishima was confidently cheering his girlfriend on. I finally found my confident voice to speak up(or rather down) to Kirishima.
"I wouldn't be so sure about that Kirishima," I said not even bothering to look at him.
"Oh really? You think Yamomo is going to win. She's smart sure, but Mina is super athletic, and did you forget she has acid?" He added.
"Did you forget, if she knew the recipe that is, that she could make a miniature nuke?" I asked with confidence, but my resting face would clearly not show it.
He was silent for a while, it didn't stop me from continuing my little unusual speech.
"She has the potential to be the number one hero. Besides, she's better trained than Ashido," I concluded.
No one else said anything except for Bakugou's cursing at me which has pretty much become a white noise machine. Yaoyorozu, meanwhile, had gotten the upper hand within no time. As soon as she did, she shot Ashido in the leg making Yaoyorozu the winner. Just as I believed. Perhaps it was my own pride that was beaming simply because I was right, or maybe it was even the fact that I had pride in her.
The following matches didn't interest me as much, but since it was in random order I still focus on their fighting styles. Especially since fights are being randomized which puts me on edge a little. The following fight was Uraraka and Asui. Uraraka won faster than I thought she would. It was probably a result of all of her training with Bakugou. I guess there was something good that comes out of their relationship. Midoriya had won against Iida since they were both my friends I was interested in the fight. I was, however, rooting for Midoriya.
Kirishima was going against a 1B student named Shiozaki. The result, I suppose if you'd even be interested, was Kirishima being victorious. The recent 1B student, Shinsou, was against his new fellow classmate Monoma, who was annoyingly arrogant as usual. Shinsou, being a past general studies student, had surprised everyone by winning. Bakugou went against Tokage(another seemingly useless 1B student) and won effortlessly. Bakugou was one of the few people I knew I had to be cautious of. He won the last two Sports Festivals, and yet he was not the fan-favorite.
The second Bracket had begun. Starting with none other than Midoriya and Kirishima. Which was a surprising start. The two were still recovering from their last battle. I'm sure that was supposed to be the real challenge. Having to fight randomly even if you seemed to have fought just mere minutes ago. Just like in the real world. Heroes have to battle villains constantly most of the time with no resting in between.
Author's Note:
I'll try to post as much as I can throughout the week before having another Hiatus that'll last a week. Also, an update on my BNHA Boyfriend Scenarios if you read it, is the NSFW Alphabet will be out in a few days. It'll be the bigger series of parts for the book. During my Hiatus, I'll probably update that book at least once, because it'll be easier to work on without my laptop.
