They all watched in horror as Snowkit was carried away by the hawk.
"No!" Sorreltail screeched, chasing after the hawk. But Snowkit couldn't hear her. Because Snowkit is deaf. He wailed but he could not hear himself, or any of his clanmates.
"Stay calm!" Firestar shouted.
"How can I stay calm when my kit is getting carried away by a hawk?!" Sorreltail snapped at Firestar.
Snowkit couldn't move, the hawks grip was too tight. So he just hung there, thinking he wasn't going to make it. The hawk flew for away felt like forever to Snowkit, but then, the hawks wing got caught on a tree, and Snowkit felt his heart stop as he fell from the hawks claws. He fell and fell and then, he felt cold water sinking into his pelt.
