It was the early morning, Logan remembered, Roman and Patton has left for the day. Where? He did not know, but it didn't matter. He was hunched over his work, flipping through pages of his notebook and adding the right ingredients to the potion.
Nobody knew of what he was doing. Nobody would understand why he was researching and attempting such a topic. That topic being the deconstructing of human matter into different living species. He had done all the research and was now attempting to create a potion to do so, perhaps it could be used in the future.
He set down his ingredients momentarily, rubbing his glasses with a cloth. 'I am so close!' He thought to himself as he glanced down at it. 'This could be dangerous though if someone were to unknowingly come across it and perhaps accidentally use it on themselves. I should keep it in a safe of sorts.' Logan put his glasses back on and went back to work.
He rubbed his eyes, he had worked through the night and was still tired, despite all the coffee and caffeine he had consumed. He knew it wasn't good for himself to participate in such habits, but at that moment he could've cared less, he was just so close to completing it.
And, with one last tinkering, it was done. He put it up to his eyes to take a closer look, the liquid in the cylindrical vial looked as liquidity as water and was rather clear.
'I may as well get some more coffee,' he thought as he put the vial carefully into his pocket, 'I won't be capable of completing any of my tasks today if I don't.'
He walked out of his room, closing the door carefully behind him and walked down the hall. Suddenly he collided into somebody else, his glasses flying off so he could not see who.
"S-s-sorry." It was Virgil, who had a phone in hand and his black headphones dangling loosely around his neck.
Logan pushed his glasses back on and slowly stood up, "It is quite alright." He had replied, holding out his hand stiffly for Virgil to grab hold of. Virgil looked at him confused and suspicious but decided it was fine as Logan pulled him up.
"Sorry." Virgil muttered to him embarrassed.
Logan nodded and walked down to the kitchen, rubbing his eyes and looking around to make sure he wouldn't knock into anyone else unexpectedly.
It wasn't until after he made his coffee and walked back into his room that he noticed that the vial was missing. "Damn it!" He thought to himself, his eyes wide, "It must have fell out of my pocket somewhere."
He set down his coffee and walked out into the hall, searching the ground for the vial with the clear liquid. He noticed shards of glass on the ground, upon further inspection there was no liquid. He was confused until he realized this is where he and Virgil collided.
He stood up quickly and glanced over at Virgil's closed door. 'There is a large chance that the potion won't work correctly, perhaps Virgil will be spared. After all, there is a 10% chance of failure, I never perfected the potion.' He pushed his glasses back up, 'Who am I kidding, that potion will work. In time Virgil will change and form into a cat like creature, although still maintaining his mindset. That saying he got it on his bare skin, perhaps he got it on his large hoodie, there would be no effect.'
Logan walked back into his room, closing the door silently and sitting down, grasping the cup of coffee. 'It is better to wait and see than tell him immediately, there is still that chance that it won't effect him.'
Soon Logan forgot of this event until the night where Virgil has ran into his room with a pained expression upon his face and disappeared shortly after. Only a cat being found there. It made far too much sense that Logan had been the cause of what had happened. And, as he was sitting down at the dinner table, fork in hand, he realized he should explain everything to Virgil and try and help him. It was the right thing to do after all. He knew Virgil would be angry, and he would just have to face that. To accept that. And despite Logan's dislike of emotions, he couldn't help but feel rather guilty for all that he had caused Virgil. And after dinner began walking to his room, hoping he would understand in some way.
