  “Morning, Renjun…”

The mentioned male turned around and faced the other, forcing out a small smile. “Morning, Donghyuck. Did you get a nice sleep?”

His friend quietly hummed in response, slowly making his way towards Renjun’s position. “Why are you here so early in the morning?...” he questioned, rubbing his eyes gently and squinting in order to see properly, “and you aren’t the type to ask me if I slept well, so what happened last night?”

Renjun lightly giggled and shook his head, answering, “I didn’t try to fall asleep any more last night. I’m too much of a coward to even close my eyes at this point.”

Donghyuck yawned and stood next to Renjun, who was looking down from the balcony and watching a few of the other people from inside the building making their way out. He sighed and glanced over his best friend, his half-lidded eyes plus messy bed hair making Renjun’s lips curve up into a genuine smile.

He examined Renjun up and down, seeing that he was already prepared to leave with his black sweater, denim jeans, and white vans.

“Why don’t you get ready? Let’s have breakfast at the company,” he stated as he went back inside the room, forcing Donghyuck to trail behind him, swiftly adding: “you could also visit Jeno in the practice rooms. I heard they’re having a tour soon so you better spend as much time as you could with your boyfriend.”

Renjun plopped himself down comfortably on his bed as he watched Donghyuck rush over to the bathroom. He was incredibly tired, but he couldn’t bring himself to fall asleep.

As he heard the shower starting to run in the bathroom, he took this as a time to think more about his dreams. He’s had these odd dreams ever since he turned 18, which consisted of him as a child who was a prince in the kingdom of Jilin, which was found in China. He knew he was Chinese because of his name along with his good knowledge about the language, and he knew that there was a handful of actual monarchies reigning through the different provinces of the country, but he also knew that the royal family of Jilin were already dead after a fire that brought the whole castle down into pieces, bringing along everyone situated within it.

He doesn’t keep up with the news about the royal family, and not a lot of people broadcast about it anymore, so there might be a chance that one or two members of the staff or family in the castle was alive.

Renjun sighed and buried his face on his pillows, frowning slightly. Maybe he was just overthinking things and that it was just his mind forming these weird dreams to make him feel as if he was someone special back then. He could only wish to even be in a 50-meter radius from a member of the royal family.

He stayed in that position for a few minutes, only lifting his head up when he heard the knob of the bathroom slowly twisting open. He sat up and watched as Donghyuck went out of the bathroom fully-clothed, the water from his wet hair slowly dripping down the wooden floor.

“I’ll wait for you outside,” he mumbled with a forced smile before he went over to his desk. He grabbed the black backpack slung on the side of the chair and smoothly hanged it on his shoulder, making his way out afterward.

He huffed and played with the long strap of his bag, resting his back on the wall beside the door. Donghyuck usually takes some time when getting ready, so Renjun would have to wait outside of the room to make him at least try to speed up so he wouldn’t have to be waiting forever.
