"okay, yo, that is a dope track," richard said once they heard the track natti natasha sent in with her verses.
"we've gotta release it soon, man," joel said and the rest of the boys agreed.
"okay so now that honey boo is officially completed, we've got some people here who could maybe start brainstorming some lyrics with you guys," ali, one of their managers said to them.
"sure, who?" zabdiel asked.
"hold up," ali said and walked to the door, telling one of the people outside to call in their guests into their studio.
"this is the why don't we boys," ali introduced them as five boys walked in.
"ayee," zach herron, the youngest member of why don't we called out once he saw the cnco boys.
they all introduced themselves and got along quite well, despite the fact sofia's boyfriend is in the band.
"okay so, we've got some ideas but we wanna know if you guys got some too," christopher said the boys as he pulled out one their notebooks, setting it onto the table.
"ooh, these are fire," jonah marais said.
"but like we don't get the spanish part tho so maybe we can drop some english lines for you guys," corbyn besson said laughing.
"yeah yeah, sure, of course," joel responded, laughing.
"wait but like what if we call in sofi?" zach whispered to his band, but everyone heard it either way.
"why?" daniel asked his bandmate.
"one, she's spanglish. i mean like, she fluent in both, and she writes dope lyrics have you guys even heard her new track?" zach explained.
"what new track? she released new music?" erick asked.
"not yet, but she gave me a copy of it," zach said.
"seems quite shady to me," zach added with a small smirk.
"what's the new song called?" jonah asked his bandmate.
"papi," zach answered.
"would you guys mind if i called her in?" daniel asked the cnco boys.
"no, not at all," joel said after turning to the boys for approval.
"the more the merrier," erick smiled.
daniel got up to call his girlfriend and turns out she was already in the building.
within 10 minutes she came knocking on their studio door and they welcomed her in.
she settled down next to daniel.
"you came quick," christopher said after they all greeted her.
"i was meeting with some people here for my new single," she explained to them.
"papi?" zach asked and she nodded.
"how come zach gets to hear it and i don't?" daniel pouted to his girlfriend.
"well, it's supposed to be a surprise," sofia shrugged.
"well can you let us hear it now?" jack avery asked her and she nodded smiling.
"that is, if you guys don't mind, of course," sofia said to the cnco boys.
"nah, nah we'd love to hear it," erick said and sofia got up to connect her phone to the speaker and played the track.
the boys were quite surprised to hear the track and were slightly taken aback by the lyrics. once the track ended the boys all cheered.
"yo, who is this about?" richard asked, chuckling.
"well, i'd rather not tap on that," sofia chuckled.
"ooh," the boys all cooed.
"i know who its about but imma keep it shut," zach raised his hands up, innocently.
"oh you better keep it shut," sofia pointed at him and laughed.
"but basically its about someone that's obsessed over knowing the fact i'm latina and for some reason just wants me to call him papi," sofia explained a little.
"hold, he asked you to call him papi?" joel asked her and she nodded.
"i called him by name and then he was like, 'nah call me papi' and it was like awkward and lowkey disgusting, like i'll call you papi once you actually earned it or if i just want to, don't ask me to call you papi," sofia chuckled.
"a real man don't gotta ask," erick shrugged and sofia agreed.
they continued the rest of the studio session jamming and brainstorming lyrics, getting along quite well.
throughout the session, erick couldn't help but admire sofia. the way she just lays down some randon lyric ideas and blurt out melodies even if they weren't on point, they easily fixed it after.
