Melanie and Jared had been friends since they were 4. They met at pre-school. Ever since then they have been best friends. So close that they consider each other as brother and sister. They hang out with each other every day after school. However they were the complete opposite. Mel with her brown hair and her aqua eyes was confident and wasn't very athletic. Jared had blond hair and hazel eyes was shy and athletic.
They lived in a small town near Hobart in Australia. There was only 27 streets in this town. They lived next door to each other in identical houses. There little town was surrounded by lush green forests.
They used to like playing hide-and-seek in the fringes of the forest but now they liked to explore the tree tops. Their school backed onto the forest and sometimes the teachers took them into the shady depths of the forest but never too far. They used to wander why they were never allowed to go too far until one day when they found out why...........
