Mel and Jared were still laughing about what Jared's mum said when they were going into the forest. They almost fell a deep dark trench but Jared dived to knock Mel out of the way of the path which lead to the trench. At first Mel was angry with him but then she saw the trench and was grateful. They continued walking until they came to the most incredible place they both have ever seen in their entire lives. They stood in awe as they drank in every tiny detail.
The trees were lush and green and stood upon shadowed ground. Little shrubs with yellow flowers gave the scene a brighter appearance and made it look like one of Jared's mum's old coat she used to wear. They heard the tranquil tinkling of a little set of cascades somewhere to the left of them. The air smelt like spring when the flowers popped up to say hello. They looked up to see a animal city of activity. Chipmunks jumped from tree to tree chatting happily to one another while tree kangaroos tried to join in on the fun. The rays of light shone through the trees giving the whole scene a fairytale look.
Doo doo Doo doo dah dah dah doo doo doo. It took several minutes for Jared to finally realise that his phone was ringing. He answered his phone to hear his mum's voice.
"Hi deary. Are you still in the forest?"
"Yes mum. Why do you ask?"
"I wanted to check to make sure you were still out in the open and that you had changed your nappies."
"Um yeah mum I'm still out in the open. Have you been drinking again mum?"
"Why yes dear I haven't."
"OK mum you obviously have't been. Oh and mum I'm 13 I don't wear nappes anymore" and with that he hang up.
