[This is a good song :)]

Six months or so had passed since Len's thirteenth birthday. It was now May 9th, so he would have three more days of school left this year.

Len crawled out of bed that morning, feeling nothing special since it was just another day of school. Everything was a repeat of itself during these days. The only thing that changed for him was what his parents were fighting over, the moon phase, and which stars he would see that night.

He rode his bike to school, down the street, across the bridge, and along the twisty path to his small school that sat far back from town. Since the town was so small, they only had one bus that only picked up the few people that didn't take their bikes or got dropped off by their parents.

Once again, when Len entered the building nothing seemed to happen, everyone was already bundled up in their cliques. Waiting to enter the school cafeteria, he slid down against the wall to the floor, resting a cheek on his shoulder, wanting to fall back asleep.

Startled by a sudden ringing, Len jumped up in a panic. Realizing it was just the bell that indicated that the cafeteria was open, he felt a little foolish and looked down at his feet as he made his way to get breakfast.

After he ate breakfast, he carried on with his day alone in the classroom. That day they had a test over scientific notation in Algebra, a pop quiz, and buddy work with reading a text and answering questions.

Len decided that he wouldn't make an effort to find a group, but would instead work alone.

It was now around six o'clock in the evening, three hours after school let out. Len was sat in his room laying on his bed, curling up into a ball. He let his mind fill him with wishes he didn't truly want and played with his fingers, snapping them, intertwining them, and making the "okay" sign.

Hesitantly, he got off of his bed, and sat in front of his bookshelf. When he got unmotivated and bored he tended to randomly flip through books, open cabinets, and clean. This time it was the "randomly flipping through books."

He picked his first book up and scooted against the wall, sitting with his legs crossed. His eyes scanned a few words, but his thoughts stayed on the same topic as what it was when he was laying in bed.

He set the book aside and took another book from the shelf, looking at the art, words, and information.

Suddenly getting hit with another wave of depression, he sat the book in his lap and looked up at the ceiling, with nothing coming to mind but sleep.

He couldn't even hear the shatter of glass with the shriek of a woman coming from outside his room. Not even his door being thrown open and his parents moving around his room arguing, throwing his belongings at one another.

He decided he would sleep. He wouldn't look at the stars that night.

***

It was a warm summer night when Len heard that both of his grandparents had become stars. They were sent up to watch over him for the rest of his life when they died in a car wreck.

He didn't know what had happened during the crash, and he wanted to stay ignorant. He didn't want to know whose fault it was or who else was involved. He didn't want to know the details. All he wanted to do was sit outside that night and talk to them.

He would look up at the brightest star and tell them his secrets, worries, and sins. He would tell them his wishes and dreams.

He did wish he could see them again. He did wish that he could taste his grandma's potato soup and his grandpa's shaky laugh.

I want to be with you guys, he would think.

"I want to be with the stars," he would say.

But with the thought in mind that they would want him to keep moving forward, he did.

That warm summer night he rode his bike to an outlook on a cliff. There he sat far from the edge with his back against a tree, looking out at the shimmering night sky.

There he saw a shooting star. I want to see my grandparents again! He yelled out at the stars.

Closing his eyes, he hoped his wish would come in seventy years and not two.

This was a short part :(
Only 761 words, the other ones had 900-1000. I was really trying to reach that, but I felt like this was a good place to stop.
