When Colby woke up, he mildly panicked when he felt himself on top of someone with arms around his waist comfortably tight. He looked to see Sam sleeping, his head turned slightly and even breaths lightly escaping his lips.
He laid his head back down on Sam's chest, his heartbeat thumped in his ears. He's never felt so safe before, he forgot about how he looked for once and felt content.
Sam's arms began moving around Colby's waist, he shifted a little before his eyes fluttered open and he looked around the room. Last night came flooding back, he smiled and looked down to see Colby's eyes opened and he just looked around the room lost in thought with a little smile on his face.
"Morning." Sam mumbled, making Colby jump and look up at him.
"M-Morning, I-I'm not crushing you am I?" He asked nervously, he wasn't sure what he so supposed to do or say.
Sam chuckled a little, "Not at all. It's comfy." He said, laughing a little.
Colby smiled, moving up a little and nuzzling his face in Sam's neck. "I-Is this okay?" He asked, hoping Sam wasn't weirded out or disturbed.
"It's perfect." Sam replied, wrapping his arms around Colby once again and stopping himself from placing a kiss in his hair. He wanted to badly, the urge to do it was hard to fight but he didn't want to do something that made Colby uncomfortable.
Eventually, Colby drifted back to sleep. When Sam fully realized it he slowly grabbed his phone from Colby's stand and started scrolling through any social media that he could.
A knock erupted at the door, he cringed at how loud it was and hoped it wouldn't wake up Colby. He felt relieved when it didn't, mumbling a 'yeah?' as best he could without being loud. When the door opened, Jake stood there with a big smile on his face once he saw the two. "Well, damn."
Sam's cheeks began beating up, he rolled his eyes and smiled. "Shut up."
"We wondered where you were, your room was empty but I guess I found ya." Jake joked, winking before leaving and shutting the door behind him.
Sam began moving Colby off of his slowly, placing him on the bed and allowing him to sleep more. He left his room and walked downstairs where everyone gave him a knowing look, he rolled his eyes at them and tried hiding his smile.
"See Corey, told you Sam liked him." Devyn said, giggling a little and making Sam red with embarrassment.
"I do actually.. a lot. I-I don't want to tell him and.. make him uncomfortable or something." Sam said, a bit of sadness filled his voice.
"I think he likes you, he's just scared. Keep doing what you're doing, let him feel it out and you'll know what he wants. It'll make sense eventually, just give it time." Devyn said sweetly, Sam smiled at her thankfully and sat on the couch to watch Corey play video games.
Colby woke up, not seeing Sam or anything that showed he was there. He wrote it off as a dream, but a dream he'd love to be true. It was weird for him, he felt having feelings towards Sam was wrong. He wasn't even sure Sam's sexuality, he could be straight.
The conclusion that Colby came to was Sam didn't take him to bed, Sam didn't sleep next to him, Sam didn't hold him, Sam didn't tell him he liked cuddling him, Sam never showed affection to him.
When he walked downstairs, he smiled to everyone and sat down silently. As he avoided contact with Sam, this made the blonde believe he did something wrong. He walked quite quickly out of the game room and up to his room, shutting his door and laying on his bed he couldn't help but feel the pang in his heart.
Colby looked sadly as Sam scurried up the stairs, it seemed as if Sam left as soon as he entered the room. "D-Did I do something wrong?" Colby mumbled, he couldn't help but tear up.
"No, no, no! Colby, hey, you didn't do anything wrong, okay? B-But why weren't you talking to Sam?" Devyn asked, moving quickly to comfort Colby.
"W-Well.. it's going to sound weird.. I had a weird dr-dream, but it was.. amazing." Colby thought about how happy he felt in the dream, how his body seemed to float when Sam smiled at him. "He held me, and I felt something.. I've never felt before.."
Jake stared laughing, "Colby! It wasn't a dream, you goon." Colby's expression dropped, he became immediately embarrassed. "Go talk to him."
"N-No.. I can't." He mumbled, walking out of the house and into the back yard. Dipping his feet in the water, he sat there and relaxed. It wasn't much of relaxing as his mind raced with a million different questions, the one question that lingered was did he love Sam.
He sat there for a while, looking at the water and deciding he wanted to swim. Walking back into the house he saw Sam downstairs once again, "D-Do you guys wanna swim?" He looked at Sam, smiling to him them gazing at everyone else.
"Sure." Elton said, Sam and Jake agreed but everyone said they'd sit this one out.
Colby ran to his room, slipping from his clothes and pulling his swim trunks on. His smile fell when he looked at his shirtless body, he felt disgusting. His ribs were extremely noticeable, his arms were even quite boney as well as his legs. He slipped a t-shirt on, unsatisfied that his arms and legs showed but tried to forget about it as he walked downstairs.
His friends tried not to gawk, they haven't seen his boney body much due to the sweaters and joggers he wears all the time. Out of instinct he wrapped his arms around his body self consciously, sighing and seeing his friends confident with their shirts off and ready to go.
Sam could tell what Colby was thinking by his facial expression, and the fact that he was the only one in a shirt. "I'll be back." He ran to his room and put a t-shirt on himself so Colby wouldn't feel alone, when he walked downstairs Colby couldn't help but smile.
"Let's swim." Elton and Jake noticed what Sam did, they smiled happily at the gesture and followed swim out the door to swim.
They all jumped into the pool, splashing each other and having a good time. As everyone swam in the deep end, Colby stayed in the shallow for fear his small body would fail him. He sighed with a heavy heart as his friends swam with ease, he sat on the steps of the pool and kicked his feet.
"Colby, are you okay?" Sam asked, swimming closer and stopping in front of him.
"N-No.. I-I'm scared to swim where I can't touch." He admitted, feeling comfortable and trusting around Sam. Sam looked at him showing he was confused, "I-It's a lot of work for my body.. uhm, don't think I could do it."
Sam sighed sadly, thinking for a minute then smiling at his own idea. "What if I hold you? We can stay by the sides so we can hold on, and I'll help you."
Colby looked up at him and felt his heart racing, he nodding hesitantly and stood up. He and Sam walked out to where the shallow area ended, and looked at each other awkwardly. They stood by the edge as Sam went out a little ways to the deep end and held a hand out for Colby.
The brunette took the hand, Sam pulled him closer to him and wrapped his one arm around Colby's small waist and held him tightly as his other hand held the side to move farther in the deep end. Colby latched his arms around Sam's neck, his body was shaking a little as he did.
They went out to where Elton and Jake were, the two watching them and sending little smiles and knowing looks. Colby blushed as he felt embarrassed, looking down to his legs that were wrapped around Sam's body.
"You okay?" Sam asked, stopping to make sure. Colby nodded and smiled sweetly. He stopped once he got to a decent area, holding on and losing his grip on Colby.
After a while, they got out and into the house to dry off. Colby took a shower, and once he was done he caught a glimpse himself and sighed. He hated how he looked, the bit of weight gain was good, but not good enough.
