Ten Years Later...

"I've been waiting for this wedding for ten years, you will not be a sourpuss and be a party-pooper Damon!" The young blonde vampire stated as she hopped from Stefan's side to the older Salvatore's to put his coat on.

"Ugh, my brother's getting married to the she-devil. Can't I sulk even just for a tiny sec?" Damon said as Caroline helped him with his tie.

"Damon, aren't you glad that I'll finally tie the knot with someone who really loves me?" Stefan said as he looked at himself in the mirror and smiling to himself.

A knock on the door made their heads turned to see who it was. To their surprise it was Bonnie and Kol. As per usual, Kol had a smug grin on his face, while saying, "My, my, my brother-in-law suits up nice."

Bonnie smacked him on the head like a little kid getting scolded by his mother. It's been ten years and Bonnie didn't look any different from her high school self ten years ago. She wasn't vampire, no, she didn't want any of her magic to go away. Unlike Gloria, she managed to freeze herself like a vampire.

Kol, on the other hand, is smitten with Bonnie. "You're such an ass sometimes." she said as Caroline pulled her into a tight embrace. "I missed you. So, where have you two been lately?" she asked as she glanced back at the Salvatore brothers who were bickering with each other about where to go for the honeymoon.

"We've been to Italy, Germany and you know what? I really loved Peru. Lots of voodoo and stuff. Kol was really creeped out by what I learn from there." The Bennett witch said as she nudged the Original.

- Mikaelson Mansion -

- Caroline -

I went to check on Rebekah. While on my way there, I could hear voices. Familiar ones, one was Bekah, the other was Elijah... Then the other was him. Klaus' voice.

I suddenly stopped midway. Just a few meters from the door. If I had a hertbeat, my hert would have jumped right out my heart. It wasn't so bad either... To wish that I had a heartbeat. A heartbeat so that he could hear it.

I swallowed hard and breathed in. What should I say? I miss you? He left that night ten years ago. Even though I still remember him telling me that he'll come back eventually, I'm still upset.

I gasped when the door opened and Elijah came out. Our eyes met and he smiled, "Caroline? It's nice to see you." He said.

I heard Rebekah call for me and I told him, "It's nice to see you too, Elijah."

"My sister calls for you. I will see you later. I'll go see the groom." He said as he walked pass me.

My feet suddenly walked towards the room where Rebekah and Klaus were. The moment I entered it, his scent overwhelmed my senses. He was sitting on the couch with a glass of whiskey in hand and a smile forming on his face.

"Caroline, don't mind Nik. Can you help me with my veil?" Rebekah muttered then I walked towards her, ignoring the fact that he was there.

I could feel his eyes burning wholes in my dress. The weight of his stare made me weak and then, in that swift moment, our eyes met by the mirror where Rebekah was in front of. My hand suddenly stopped working but his sister's voice came to me.

"Nik, don't stare at Caroline. You'll have your turn when she's done with me." Rebekah told him. I couldn't help but chuckle at the thought.

"Don't be ridiculous, sister." I heard him say. That accent still makes me shiver. His voice... Everything about him.

Nothing changed. He still likes pestering his sister.

"Rebekah, you're all done. Stefan and the others are already at the church." I told her as I smiled and placed my hand on her shoulder. She smiled back and said, "Thank you, Caroline. Choosing you to be my maid of honor was the best choice I've ever made."

"Ah, don't mention it. You and Stefan are my best friends. You guys helped me through the years." I said.

I felt like I was goin to cry but I shouldn't. Not yet anyway.

Rebekah stood up and hugged me. I saw Klaus' smile through the mirror. She must've stuck her tongue out or something.

Before I knew it, I was in the passenger seat of his car. The awkward silence lingered between the two of us as he started the engine.

The drive to the church... It felt like the first tine again. He seemed so far away.

"Vienna, Florence, Paris, Italy, Tokyo..." I began to mumble the places where I've been. I caught a glimpse of his dimples and it made smile, "Amsterdam, California, Hawaii, Korea..." He began to add.

It doesn't surprise me if he knew all of the places I've been. I made sure he knew them. I would text, call or even call the closest hybrid I could find just to let him know where I am but in the end, there was still no reply.

- Church -

Before I knew it, we were at the church. Behind us was Elijah followed by Rebekah's white limousine.

Klaus, being the gentleman he is, opened the door and held out his hand. His hand. It will be the first time since ten years ago.

I took his hand, grasped it tightly as I got down from the car. I could hear Damon saying that it has been ten years and that it was awkward.

He's right. Ten years is a long way to spend wallowing in yesterday but Klaus was the one who left, not me.

"Can we talk after the wedding is over, love?" My eyes stared at him in shock. I smiled weakly and replied, "Alright."

I'm nervous... I don't know what to I'll say...
