Chapter #5

Sorry for not posting in awhile. Even with Covid-19 I've been busy with school work. Gotta keep up my grades.

Flashback:

'Does she think I'm invisible or something... Oh' a grin appears on my face. ' I have an idea..'

Present:

"LIL THE HOUSE IS ON FIRE!" I yell trying to get her attention away from the phone she took off speaker so she could talk to the crew and to her actual friend that's here in the flesh.

She of course replied, but without even looking at me! "One sec V. I'm almost done with the call."

'D..did she just brush me off?!' I thought staring at her with a confused expression. Like how can she ignore me. Well at least now I know I'm not totally invisible.

You see anytime I don't want to be seen, I turn invisible to the human eye, well that is incorrect. I just turn into a shadow, but I don't have much control over it. It seems that only animals can see me it this state. Very few people actually know about this special power of mine. I try to keep it hidden due to the fact that my childhood best friend got taken to a lab for being able to shapeshift.

"See you gu-" I looked at Lil just in time to see her take the phone away from her ear and glare at it. "did Rose just hang-up on me!?" I gave her the 'are you serious' look.

We make eye contact. "Lil, you guys are taking this way to seriou-" I stop hearing the sound of my door bell being pushed like it was the Apocalypse.

"I wonder who that could be? I'll be back in a sec Lil." I walk over to my door and start to open it. Before I could even say anything, I get grabbed by the shoulders. Forcing me to make eye contact with the person infront of me.

I stare in shock at who I see. "Em, Rose!? I-I didn't think you would mean an actual second. Like, h-how did you get here so fast? You live 10 minutes away, and it's only been 2!?"

Em quickly takes her hands off my shoulders while saying "Yeah, yeah, whatever" allowing room for Rose to squeeze her way infront of Em. She looked like she's in the process of being in a sugar high.

"Can we come in now? I'm cold." Rose says. Now that I look at her, I realize both Rose and Em don't have anything to to protect them from the wind. I'm looking at them in shock. Not really hearing what their saying. I'm brought back from my mind going a mile a minute when I see a hand wave directly infront of my face.

"Oh, yeah. C-come on in" I say stepping away from the door allowing them to come in.

Rose sprints to my couch taking up half of it with her body, Lil follows suite taking the chair off to the side, while Emile, unlike his sister walks calmly over to the other free side of the couch and patted his lap. Rose knew the sign. She quickly got up putting her head on his lap, letting Em brush his fingers through her strabarry coloured hair.

I took my usual spot on the floor sitting between the chair on my left and the couch on my right. We sit in silence for a good solid minute before Rose finally breaks the silence.

"V. Now that we are all comfy give us the juicy details." I sigh. Making it as loud and as long as I can. "F-fine, just for you two." I say pointing at the two siblings on my couch. "Also n-nothing juicy happened!"

I hear an offended gasp come from my left, so I turn to face Lil who has a shocked look of her face. "Excuse me? What am I. Chop liver or something!?"

'She's acting like princy right now.' I think as I look back to our incounter earlier today.

I spread fake guilt around my face making it as real as I can. "Don't worry Lil, I-I didn't forget about you." This usually works on anyone. "Good"Lil says. This even the crew. I have a nack for hiding my emotions and pain. I call it a gift while others call it an issue.

Rose looks at me making sure I'm now just buying time. Which I totally was. I sigh once more knowing I have to explain what happened eventually.

"Ok so first..."

Meanwhile across town

??? POV

I jolt up to the sound of the door being snapped open. I quickly turn my head to see an out of breath Roman gasping for air.

He finally seems to catch his breath and stands up in a princely position. "The important one has finally arrived!"

Sorry this took so long. Today I was busy with my brother's graduation. We had to go to school and watch him cross the stage. It was weird, but it didn't help that it was just us. Anyways have a great day/night.
