The diner

"So, do you have a plan on where you're going" he asks me.

That gets me thinking. The only thing I thought of was getting out of Jersey.

"I don't really know where I'm going if I'm being honest" I look down. "That makes two of us" he confesses.

"what if we like...i don't know, like stayed together" he tells me. "Like a travel buddy?" He nods.

That does sound nice and I don't want to be alone. "Why not" I tell him." He smiles.

"Ok so when we get off i was thinking we could explore." He tells me. "Yea and i have money we could stay somewhere" i tell him.

"And get something to eat. I'm starving" he chuckles. I take the bag off my back and open it to pull out a small pack of gummies. "Take these" i hand him the snack.

He opens them up and throws a gummy into his mouth.

"Thanks"

The train stops and we get off. It's already seven.

"Where are we?" I ask him. He takes out his phone. "Pennsylvania " he smiles. Damn that was quick.

"Let's go" he tells me. We walk out and scan our surroundings. Not too many people but a few. We get a few looks but that's it.

We get on the streets and just start walking. "I'm nervous. What if someone sees us and just picks us up." I tell him.

"Well at least we would get a free ride" he joked. I just laugh.

We have been walking for hours and all we see is road and forest.

It's getting dark and we come across a diner. "FOOD" Ethan screams. He starts running towards the restaurant.

"ETHAN WAIT UP" I yell at him and start running to catch up.

We walk in and sit down. "Ethan why would I do that" I laugh catching my breath. "Again, food" he gets all excited. "You're lucky you're pretty"

He smiles. Oh that smile. I feel like I can't get enough of that damn smile.

"Hello welcome to Leo's Diner what would you like to drink" the waitress asks.

"I'll have a water" I tell her but she completely ignores me because apparently Ethan is the only one sitting here. "Water he tells her" THEN she turns to me and gives me a petty look "and you" she says with the fakest smile ever "I'll have a water"

She walks away and Ethan starts laughing. "And you" he mocks her. "Bruh what kind of smile was that" I laugh.

She comes back and sets the waters down. She takes our food orders then goes back.

Across from us are these group of men. They are just staring at us.

"Ethan they are looking at us" I warn him. "Just try not to notice I'm sure it's nothing to be worried about.

Our food comes and we start eating. When we're done we pay and walk out.

"Look what I got" he shows me a price of paper with a number on it. "Oh my god she did not" I start laughing. "What can I say, I'm hot" he smirks. "Yeah ok bup" I tell him.

"Bup" he says with a smile. "Is that my name now" he blushes. "Yes" I give him a funny face.

"Y/n there's a car behind us and it's driving oddly slow." He tells me.

I start to get worried. We come across a gas station and go inside. The car pulls up into the lot and the men from the diner gets out.

"Shit" Ethan curses under his breath. Tears start to form in my eyes "what if he's trying to kidnap us" I start panicking. "Hey if we do I promise I won't let anything happen to you" he cups my cheeks.
