"The body count is rising and the stupid media is making the public start panicking," Drew Montgomery sighed. This has been one of the most stressful cases in her entire career.
Officer Aden Johnson tapped a pen to his chin thoughtfully, "do you think the victims were chosen at random?"
"We have nothing that says otherwise Aden." Officer Montgomery wiped a hand over her face, the day had started out normally, then the phone calls started to come through, three bodies in five hours.
Drew turned back to the bulletin board for the twelfth time this hour, hoping something would connect.
"Sorry I'm late," Officer Amy May smiled, carrying in a box of donuts.
16 year old Alissa Roberts was found dead in a ladies washroom, 43 year old Louise Caufeild's body was found in her living room, and 8 year old Charlie Evans choked to death in a hospital.
"They must have something in common," Aden's attentive grey eyes narrowed as he took a slow bite of a donut.
"I got something," Officer Rebecca Gale beamed. Drew crossed the room and looked down at Gale's monitor.
"They do have something in common, their love for desserts, specifically the ones from Sweet Tooth," Rebecca looked up at Drew and smiled.
"Finally," Aden sighed and stood, "shall we Nancy Drew?"
Drew laughed, "right behind you."
