"Nous sommes le 31 mai 2020.

Le 25 mai 2020, George Floyd a été tué. Il n'était pas un homme parfait. Il n'était pas reconnu. Mais sa vie a été enlevée pour un simple billet de $20. Une famille a perdue leur proche, a cause d'un billet de $20, et un policier sans scrupule. Avant lui, il y'a eu Éric Garner, Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, Adama Traoré et tant d'autres. Certes, certains noirs s'entretuent entre eux mais ça n'excuse en aucun cas le fait que ma communauté, que la communauté noire soit oppressée à cause de leur couleur de peau.

Une couleur qu'ils n'ont en aucun cas demandé et une couleur dont je suis fière. Je me demande comment ce Chauvin et ses complices arrivent à dormir là nuit sachant ce qu'ils ont fait. Floyd l'a supplié 15 fois. Et maintenant que le monde entier se révolte, les gens sont surpris. J'en ai marre d'entendre chaque jour le nouveau meurtre d'un noir. Le 28 mai, trois jours après le meurtre de Floyd, en France, d'autres ont commis la même action contre un certain Touré. Mais où va le monde?

Le racisme ne date pas d'hier. Que ce soit avec l'histoire des Central Park Five des années 90, le meurtre par chaise électrique de ce pauvre garçon accusé injustement de viol et tant d'autres. Il faut du changement. Au point où j'en suis, honnêtement, ça me parait impossible qu'on n'y arrive un jour. Je n'arrive plus à vraiment avoir espoir en l'humanité. Je sais qu'il reste énormément de personnes bonnes dans ce monde mais il y'en a tellement aussi au cœur corrompu. C'est outrageant et blessant.

Honnêtement, ce speech que je viens de faire ne changera rien au monde. Je suis extrêmement fière de voir qu'actuellement beaucoup de personnes se rallient, en dépassant la barrière de la couleur de peau, de la religion, des opinions personnelles. Les gens sont unies pour protester contre une cause. BLACK LIVES MATTER. Et oui, toutes les vies comptent, mais tant que les vies noires ne seront pas prises elles aussi au sérieux, bah honnêtement cette phrase n'aura pas tout son sens.

Je prie pour l'égalité, l'unité mais surtout pour la justice et le changement dans ce monde. J'élève ma voix, bien que je n'aie aucune renommée, dans l'espoir que les gens prennent conscience que ce monde doit changer."

On May 25, 2020, George Floyd was killed.  He was not a perfect man. He was not famous. But his life was taken away for a mere $20 bill. A family lost their loved one to a $20 bill and an unscrupulous police officer. Before him were Eric Garner, Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, Adama Traoré and so many others.  Certainly some blacks kill each other but that does not in any way excuse the fact that my community, that the black community is oppressed because of their skin color.

A color they never asked for and a color I'm proud of.  I wonder how this Chauvin and his accomplices manage to sleep at night knowing what he did. Floyd begged him 15 times. And now that the whole world is rebelling, people are surprised. I'm tired of hearing the new murder of a black person, or of a person of color every day. Three days after Floyd's murder, in France, others committed the same action against a certain Touré. But where is the world going?

Racism is not new. Whether it be with the history of the Central Park Five of the 90s, the murder by electric chair of this poor boy unfairly accused of rape and so many others. Change is needed. At this point, honestly, it seems to me impossible that we will ever get there. I no longer really have hope in humanity. I know there are still a lot of good people left in this world, but there are also so many with a corrupt heart. It is outrageous and it hurts.

Honestly, this speech I just made will not change anything in the world.  I'm extremely proud to see that a lot of people are rallying right now, crossing the barrier of skin color, religion, personal opinions and beliefs.  People are united in protest against a cause.  BLACK LIVES MATTER. And yes, all lives count, but until black lives are taken too seriously, well, honestly, this sentence will not make sense.

I pray for equality, unity but above all for justice and change in this world. I raise my voice, though I have no fame, in hope people will get conscious this world needs to change."
