I remember that morning very well. I woke up lazily and, after having breakfast, having a shower and brushing my teeth, I headed for David's room in the hotel. I was humming some guns n' roses song when I knocked his door. After a few minutes, I started to get worried- nobody was answering. I quickly called the hotel's reception and asked if David had went out that morning. He hadn't. Some employee came up with a copy of David's room key and opened the door. Fear invaded me. He wasn't there.
His bass was broken and thrown against a trash bin and the window was also destroyed. The man who opened the room went out, heading for the check-in counter downstairs. I started looking around the room, looking for any hint that could reveal where he was, when I spotted something white sticked on the black bass case. I grabed it and read it quickly. An adress was written there. I recognised it. It was a building near the theater where we were going to play that concert. I sighed, shaking, and called for a taxi. While it was arriving the hotel, I went back to my room and grabbed my guitar. I stared at it for some seconds and then shook my head. I left the instrument there and walked out of my room. Someone told me the taxi was ready. I ran downstairs, got into de vehicle and told the taxist the place I was going.
I started suspecting when I realized we had passed the same place already three times. The taxist wasn't who he said he was... I told him to stop but he didn't seem to be listening. The car's doors we're closed so I couldn't get out of there. That was it. I hardly stood up and put my hands on the taxist neck and started pressing, strangulating him. Luckily, I only made him dismay, I didn't kill him. As the vehicle lost control, I jumped on the driver seat and drove the taxi to the building.
I got out of the vehicle, walked a few steps... And found myself with a gun pressing my back.
