...She's got a smile that it seems to me
Reminds me of childhood memories
Where everything was as fresh
As the bright blue sky...
The concert was going fine. I was playing Sweet Child O' Mine by Guns N' Roses. Well, me... and a friend. She was a bassist. Of course, she wasn't as good as David but she was one of the bests and she had offered to help me giving the concert. Her name was Helen. Some of our fans would say I liked her, but they'll never know. "Why?" You may be asking. Because she died that day. Maybe I should continue with the concert, then you'll understand what really happened. The people was a bit disappointed because David wasn't going, but they were still happy to see us there. I really wanted to tell everyone that there was a huge bomb under the theatre. But I also knew that there was a sniper aiming at me and if I did something I wasn't supposed to, not only the theatre but a church and a whole skyscraper would be blown up. So I just kept playing.
When I arrived to the chorus part, I noticed that the sound was decreasing. I almost stopped playing to see was going on, but I luckily decided to wait until we finished the song.
...Where do we go?
Where do we go now, now, now, now, now, now, now now?
Sweet child, sweet child o' mine...As I gave the last chord, I turned back. Some of the speakers had been disconnected. I was tempted to go back and plug it back in, but I held. When I turned again to stare at the people in the seats, I saw someone... familiar. Oh, of course, there was the jazz singer who had set the bombs... Great. I sighed and played Seven Nation Army's base. Then I activated loop mode and told Helen to continue with the full song. Now I had time to think. «What would David do?» I told myself. He'd probably run try to deactivate the bomb, even though that would probably blow up another two buildings. Also, I had a little theory. When I had woken up the day ago, I found a list of songs I had to play during the concert. I hadn't written that. I knew that was from the jazz singer, but why? Why he wanted me to play specific songs? An idea grew in my mind.
Once Seven Nation Army was finished, Helen prepared to play Holiday by Green Day, but I interruped her. Instead, I played How do you talk to an angel beginning.
I was right. Only a specific song activated the bomb. The sound of the sniper shooting confirmed it.
