Emily's POV
"You're not going to catch us," Will shouted to me. I rolled my eyes.
"In your dreams," I shouted back. Dusty looked to me. "Now boy," I said to him. He started sprinting across the trail, going ahead of Will and Jimber, bringing Horseland into view. I slowed him down, and looked behind us, to see Will coming from the trails.
"Ok. You win this time." He said. Again, I rolled my eyes.
"And last time, and the time after that, and the time aft-" I said, but he interrupted me.
"Ok, we get it." He said. I smiled and had Dusty go into his meadow. There were different obstacles set up. I had Dusty approach a beam.
"Nice and easy boy," I said. He put one huff on the beam, then hesitated. "Do you want India to show you up again?" I asked. He then started walking onto the beam. When he got to the middle, the beam started to go down, and he got scared. When it was fully down, he pretty much galloped off the beam. I laughed.
"Isn't that dangerous?" I heard someone asked. I look and see Sarah on Scarlet.
"Not really. I've done worse on Dusty." I said, getting off of him. He trotted over to Scarlet.
"You on for the trail ride for tomorrow?" She asked.
"Yeah. We're still bringing India right?" I responded.
"Yep. She's been running laps around the pasture, and kicking the fence." Sarah said. I shook my head.
"Dusty, go talk to your daughter," I said. He snorted at me.
"Ok. See ya. Come on Scarlet." Sarah said, nudging Scarlet into a gallop. Dusty neighed a sad neigh when she left.
"Dusty, get you head in the game. We've got training to do." I said. He trotted over to me, and I climbed onto him. I turned him around, and we weaved around poles, did some jumps, the beam again. It was around 5 when we went back to the barn and saw dad.
"Shh. Don't tell Emily." Dad said to Tony.
"Don't tell me what?" I asked.
"Nothing." They said at the same time. I pulled Dusty into the barn, untacked him, gave him an apple, and left to go home.
"Your sitting in the bed," Tony said, pushing me to the bed of the truck. I heard Will laugh.
"Enjoying this are you?" I questioned. He nodded. I knocked on the window, and dad drove away. Dad and Tony were acting weird from the moment we got home to the moment I went to bed. I couldn't sleep because of them, so I played my guitar. Once I actually had a song in mind, I went to my piano, started playing and sang quietly.
~I hear the wind call my name
The sound that leads me home again
It sparks up the fire - a flame that still burns
To you I will always return
I know the road is long but where are is home
Wherever you stay - I'll find the way
I'll run the river - I follow the sun
I'll fly like an eagle to where I belong
I can't stand the distance - I can't dream alone
I can't wait to see you - yes I'm on my way home
Now I know it's true
My every road leads to you
And in hour of darkness
Your light gets through
You run like the river - you shine like the sun
You fly like an eagle
You are the one
I've seen every sunset
And with all that I've learned
Oh, it's you I will always...always return~
I walked to my window seat, and sat on it, staring at the night sky. I felt a tear roll down my face. Why? Because I miss my gang. My friends. Brad, Mark, Max, John, Sam, and Ryan. Even though Sam and Ryan didn't ride, I still hang out with them. And now, I miss my gang.
