"So this is where you ran off to." Pansy said mockingly. Hermione giggled by her side holding their shopping bags. Harry's cheeks flushed and he stared at the ground below him. Draco scuffed and rolled his eyes. "Come on, I want to go back to the castle."
Hermione and Pansy turned around in sync, leading the way. Draco turned to Harry with a smirk. He wrapped his arm around Harry's waist to pull him in and placed a gentle kiss on the top of his head. He unwrapped his arm and held out his hand for Harry to grab, he took it without hesitation.
"So what does this mean for us?" Harry asked as they followed their two friends. Draco shrugged in response. "Still think we should only be acquaintances?"
"No, let's just see how this goes, alright?" Draco said softly. "We don't have to put a label on it yet."
"Okay." Harry said simply. He didn't want to risk messing things up already. He was perfectly content with where they were now. To him, it's a step in the right direction.
Draco couldn't wipe the grin off of his face. He was holding hands with Harry Potter, the boy he's had a crush on for ages. He knew now that Harry did in fact like him, despite his flaws.
They walked hand in hand all the way up to the castle Harry was pleasantly surprised when Draco kept his hand in his. Once they reached the Gryffindor dorms, Draco finally let go of Harry's hand. He leaned in closer to Harry, stopping right beside his ear.
"I had a great time with you, Potter." He pulled away slightly and planted a gentle kiss on Harry's head. Harry blushed feriously. Draco smirked at the shorter boy before waving bye to Hermione. He left the two alone as he walked away with Pansy. Harry marveled at the boy's elegant stride.
"I can't wait to fill Ron in." Hermione said, squiling in delight. She grabbed Harry by the wrist and dragged him through the portrait hole. Ron sat by the fire, playing chess with Dean. He hardly noticed the two had entered the room. "Ron, we have really great news."
"Yeah? Spill it." He kept his eyes on the chess pieces as Dean made his move.
"Harry and Draco are a thing now!" Hermione said excitedly. Ron quickly turned his attention to his rosy cheeked friend. Harry's blush was even more prominent now. He scratched his scar gently.
Ron laughed hysterically for a moment and collected himself. He shoved the chess pieces off of the board.
"Screw the game, you owe me 5 galleons mate!" Ron said to Dean, who smiled and shook his head. He pulled the money out of his pocket and handed it over to Ron.
"You bet on me?" Harry questioned. Hermione's expression already transitioning into anger. Ron shook his head with a grin on his face.
"No, well, kinda. Dean said you two wouldn't get through the date. I said you would. So we bet 5 galleons." Ron explained. "I knew it would work out. Tell me all about it." Ron positioned himself to sit facing toward his friends. Hermione and Harry sat on the couch nearest to him.
Harry filled him in on the day's events. Ron smiled like an idiot the whole time. He was genuinely happy that Harry was happy. He left out the fact that he got harassed by Death Eaters. He didn't need them to worry about him.
The next day, Ron and Harry made their way down to the great hall for breakfast. The events of yesterday replayed over and over in Harry's thoughts. Maybe I was dreaming. They entered the hall and Harry noticed the silver haired boy right away. He sat across from Hermione and Pansy with perfect posture. He turned his head to Harry, noticing his scent right away, and smiled. I'm definitely dreaming.
