Sunny's POV

Sunny entered the gym, going a little faster than usual because she was late. Tsunami and Peril, who Sunny had gym class with, were already there. They both liked PE, and were pretty good at a lot of the things they did. Sunny enjoyed PE too, but then again, she liked pretty much every class they had. The coach, Kestrel, was already leading everyone in stretches. Sunny hurried to join them.

"Sunny, you are late! That's two extra laps at the end of class today!" Kestrel shouted. "Sorry  Ms. Kestrel!" Sunny apologized as sincerely as she could. By then everyone had finished stretching and had lined up while Kestrel paced in front of them. "Okay you pitiful lizards. Today we will be playing dodgeball. Tsunami, Peril, choose who you want on your teams."

"Sunny." Tsunami called without hesitation.

"Hurricane." Peril said.

"Mindseeker."

"Garnet."

"Thunder.

"Frostbite."

The calling of names went on until everyone was on a team. As usual, a lot of the kids with the overly colorful hair and lofty expressions were picked last. A lot of them didn't really know what they were doing. The balls were lined up and the game started with a blast of Coach Kestrel's whistle.

Peril's POV

Peril ran and grabbed a ball. She quickly yeeted the ball as hard as she could at a random      pink-and-violet haired girl as hard as she could. It hit her in the arm as she started to run away.

"Blossom, on the bleachers NOW! Are you even TRYING?" Kestrel, Peril's mom, yelled. Peril felt a little sorry for the girl. She was a bit smaller than the other kids, and almost the same height as Sunny.

Peril just barely dodged a red ball that sailed over her shoulder instead of hitting her in the face. She sprinted away and lobbed one at Mindseeker. She and Tsunami had an unspoken agreement that they wouldn't try to hit each other until they were the last ones standing.

Instead of hitting Mindseeker, the tall, calm girl with the sparkly star bracelet, the ball hit Tsunami in the back, who looked surprised for a second. She then jogged off the court before Kestrel could shout at her to do so. She really hated being told what to do.

After a while, shockingly enough, Peril and Sunny were the only ones left.

Sunny's POV

Sunny was kind of proud of herself for outlasting all of her teammates, even if it meant she had to beat Peril to win. Sunny hurridly snatched up a ball and chucked it at Peril. She missed. The bright-red-haired teen grabbed one and darted to the left, dodging another crimson projectile.

"Come on Sunny! You can do it!" Tsunami shouted. Kestrel glowered at her. Tsunami matched the look. Sunny doubted that Tsunami was this reassuring and optimistic very often. Sunny returned her attention to the game just as Peril heaved a ball at Sunny. It hit her square in the chest. Ow. She thought.

"Peril's team wins!" Kestrel announced. Everyone on Peril's team cheered. Tsunami did too, for reasons unknown. Normally she would demand a rematch and get enormously irritated. Seriously, what was up with her?

Okay, another chapter finished! Hope ya'll liked it. This is one of the chapters where i will switch POVs and have multiple instead of just one. I spent a lot of my time on this one thinking for "threw" synonyms. All of the players who were picked to be on teams are my OCs, two of them are in a story i made for someone about their OC, Starfire.
