Chapter 19 - It's Showtime!!

After what felt like an endless night, Hibiki woke up with more energy than ever before. Today's the day! She was going to sing with her friends again, and by the end of the night, she may possibly have a girlfriend. She got ready for school with a much more positive attitude, she didn't feel like she was dragging herself out of bed. She wasn't rushing out the door, everything was perfect. She skipped out the door humming "Here Comes the Sun" as she met up with Kanae and Akari to walk to school.

Kanae: I've never seen you this excited to go to school, you okay?

Hibiki: of course! Today is going to be the best day of my life!

Akari: yeahhhhh!! I want this day to go by quickly!!

Hibiki and Akari held hands and began skipping ahead of Kanae. Kanae was happy for them of course, she wanted to support the band, but it wasn't worth being this hyped about. Maybe it was because she wasn't actually part of it? A part of her wished she could be part of the band. Maybe she could ask Hibiki after their performance?

Hibiki: we have a math test?! Crap! I was so focused on the band I forgot to study! Goodbye decent grades in my class...

While walking into class, she just heard about the math test: the one her teacher kept reminding them about all week. How did she forget like that? Stupid memory... oh well, she just had to hope that she'd do well enough to pass... Hibiki naturally passed tests when she didn't study. Here's hoping that her luck lasts...

Akari: hey Hibiki, how do you think you did on that test?

Hibiki: I don't know, I hardly remember that stuff! I just hope that most of my guesses were right... stupid math.

Akari: you could've asked me to help you study! I'm always happy to help you!

Hibiki: but studying is soooooo boring! I get distracted so easily when studying and I hate it. Oh well, I kinda like my method of doing nothing and somehow doing well, it's worked for me for years!

Akari: okay then... oh hey, there are the others! Hey guys!!

Tsubasa: Hibiki! Akari! Over here! I made muffins last night to celebrate us making our debut for the second time!

Hibiki: yay! Tsubasa muffins! My favorite!

Hibiki grabbed one and started eating it.

Hanabi: you know, I helped make them too~

Hibiki: you did?! I mean, that's cool~! Ahahaha...

Kiri: Hibiki, what kind of reaction was that?

Hibiki: no idea what you're talking about! Everything is fine!

Kiri: but you got all blushy when Hanabi mentioned that she helped. Are you sure?

Hibiki: I'm sure! I didn't know Hanabi helped with them, that's all! Anyway... who's excited for tonight?

Tsubasa: I'm pretty sure we all are!

Hanabi: of course! It's all I've been able to think about for a week.

Kiri: I'm excited too! I just hope I don't mess anything up like I did last time...

Tsubasa: that wasn't your fault Kiri, we even made sure to not have too many lighting effects to avoid that situation again.

Kiri: that's a relief!

Hibiki: don't worry Kiri~! Everything will be fine this time! I just know it will! By the way, those costumes are finished right?

Kiri: yep! Finished them last night! I offered to make one extra one for a future performance maybe!

Hibiki: nice!
