"Sorry for getting so worked up, __________-chan. Christmas is about giving too, right?" Syo apologized.
"Me too Kurusu-kun. I just want to be happy with you," you said truthfully. Syo leaned his head against the door.
"I think it's safe to go. Are you ready to make more cakes?" Syo asked enthusiastically with a grin. He offered his hand.
"Yes!" you responded grabbing his hand. After checking that the way was clear the two of you headed back to the kitchen.
When you returned you found everything clean and Natsuki's cakes on a platter. You touched one and black dust stuck to your finger as a result. There was no way you could give this to the children. As much good intention Natsuki put into these cakes if the children ate them there was a possibility they wouldn't survive till Christmas.
"Looks like we have a fair amount of work to do," you stated. Syo rolled up his sleeves and smiled.
"It'll be worth it for the kids," Syo reassured.
"In the spirit of Christmas, of giving, we'll do our best!" you declared. The two of you followed the recipe closely. Measuring, mixing, baking, cooling and decorating took countless hours, but the two of you smiled nevertheless. An endless conversation ensued during the creation of the cakes and by the end of it you felt as though Syo had always been part of your life.
"They look great," you said looking at the finished product.
"Agreed," Syo concurred. The two of you placed the cakes in the fridge and said your good byes. You felt a little bitterness departing from your friend, but also kindled warmth in your heart knowing it would only be for a little.
The next morning a call woke you from your (deep/medium/light) slumber.
"Yes?" you asked, yawning.
"Good morning!~" Saotome said on the other end of the phone. Your sleepy daze was broken by his voice.
"Shining-san? What is it?" you inquired.
"Today you will be giving the presents to the children along with the cake!" he announced.
"H-huh?"
"Be there on time! You'll have an outfit once you get there!"
"Wait! Wh-" Before you could finish your sentence he hung up. A couple seconds later a text was sent stating the location. You sighed and rolled out of bed. Soon after, you got ready and you arrived at the designated location.
"_________-chan?" a voice called out. You whipped around to spot Syo.
"Kurusu-kun!" you said smiling and waving.
"You got called too?" he asked.
"Yep," you answered, delighted to spend the day with him," Anyway we're suppose to head in and they'll be costumes in our dressing rooms."
"Let's do our best!" he exclaimed. You both entered your dressing room to find red and white Santa themed suits.
