This story is about Kiara Olton, a girl with a heavy past and a lonely heart.

You'll get to know her past and see her get ready for whatever the future may hold for her. What will she do and where will she end up?

————

It all started with her parents. They never gave her the attention she needed as a little kid. They were always gone, doing their own thing. Especially her mother.
Kiara knew she was all alone, and she hated it.

She tried making friends without the little push she needed from her parents, but Kiara was a quiet little girl and children don't like to befriend the quiet kids, so she remained lonely.

Throughout the years it didn't get any better. In fact, it got even worse. When she entered high school, kids started bullying her, which made her first year pretty awful. Kiara was even thinking about quitting it all. Making an end to the misery.

Until..

A new girl came along.

Kiara's second year in high school had started, and she noticed something was different. There was a new face. A new girl. Kiara knew this was her chance to make an actual friend, but she was too insecure to walk up to her. She just let it go and took a seat in the back row again.

The new girl was quite nervous because, well, she was the new girl. She wanted to approach someone who seemed nice and welcoming. Someone she could become friends with.

She looked around the classroom, and she noticed Kiara immediately. She stood out. Not because she was sitting alone, but because she just seemed different from the others. She could tell.

The new girl approached her and took the seat beside her.

The whole class was shocked because no one ever sat beside her. Kiara didn't even notice her at first, but then it slowly came in. She turned around and the new girl smiled sweetly at her. "Hey, I am Cassandra." she said with a chuckle.
Kiara had finally something she could only dream of. Hope.

Kiara and Cassandra had been best friends ever since that day. Kiara had finally something to look forward to when waking up and getting ready. Three years later, she even got together with Cassandra. The friendship had turned into love.

It was good. Life was good.

Kiara was happy and she could finally picture a future for the first time.

But then Kiara's hope got ripped away from her again.

Cassandra got into an accident and fell into a coma.

Kiara had lost the one thing, the one person she couldn't live without.

She visited her every single day. She would tell her about her day and just look at her for a while.

It became a routine.
And before she knew it, three years had passed again.

-------

'Karen said it again. "Honey, you should move on." She said it like it was easy. Cassandra is the only person that cares about me. The only person I have. I can't simply give up on her.'

Kiara sighed as she left her thoughts. Karen is a coworker. She's always dwelling in everyone's business and it annoyed the crap out of her. Kiara's job was to write articles, but her passion was actually writing stories.

Kiara was finally done with work. Today she wanted to surprise Cassandra with some flowers. She knew she was still in a coma, but she liked to believe that she could hear her. The accident was precisely three years ago, and that's why she wanted to do something nice for her.

Kiara turned around the corner. The flower store should be close by. She stopped in her pass and looked around for a minute. Left or right? She couldn't remember which way she went last time.

She decided to go left, but she soon regretted that decision.

At first it seemed like the streets were totally empty, but then she saw five people run in circles. It confused Kiara. What was going on?

"GRAB HIM! GRAB HIM!" A girl shouted at the top of her lungs. Kiara jumped to the side as the girl ran past her. Still confused, she looked at two boys who were trying to restrain a man. They were super calm even though the fact that the man had a gun in his hand.

When they succeeded at handcuffing the man and putting his gun away, the loud girl was walking back while dragging two men after her. They were both handcuffed and unconscious.

"What happened to them?" One of the boys asked with a raised eyebrow. The girl dropped the men and looked over her shoulder, pointing. "Casey happened." She said while laughing. That's when another girl approached them. "Sorry, they were trying to escape, so I punched them."

The boy rolled his eyes and opened the car doors. "Let's just put them in the backseat and get out of here before someone notices us." He said while grabbing one of the boy's arms.

Now the last person, who was sitting behind the wheel the whole time, said something. "Someone already has."

Kiara jumped back as they all turned around to look at her. Her heart was racing, and she knew she had to get out of there. She did NOT want to mess with these people.

She turned around and started running as fast as she could. She didn't want to end up liked those men they were fighting.

She almost reached the corner, but then she fell down. Someone had grabbed her by her ankles before she had the chance to take a turn. "I'm sorry!" A female voice said. She recognized it, it was the loud girl.

Kiara cursed under her breath and tried to break free, but then the other girl approached them. Kiara knew what was going to happen. She was shaking her whole body in the hope the girl would let her go, but the girl didn't even flinch. Kiara sighed and closed her eyes. Waiting for the other girl's fist to collide with her face.
