Chapter 26 (The Talk)

Niles' Pov.

*sigh*

Since Tania left me inside the car, I didn't even think of getting out because I didn't know what to do when I went in. I can't believe it. She didn't even spare me a word nor a glance. Battling my inner thought whether to go in or not, what am I thinking that's my house, why am I having a second thought it's obvious that I don't have a choice but to go in or else I'll be sleeping here.

I went out of the car and walked straight to the living room. There, I saw Elix sitting. She looked at me, I just smiled at her and sat beside her.

"Otōsan,-dōshita no?" She asked

*Japanese: Otōsan,-dōshita no= Dad, what's the problem*

"It's about your mother."

"What about her?" - Elix

"It's okay, you won't understand anyway." I said, a little bit frustrated.

"Try me!" She demanded.

"It's just that...."

"What!? Just tell me already, don't hesitate, don't look at me like I'm an 11 years old kid, think of me as the same age as you." Geez, so demanding like Tania, people would say that Elix inherited it from Tania hahahahah.

"Okay, okay, let's do that. I told her twin sister, who is my girlfriend in the past, that I love your mother now. Well, I know that I didn't break up with her and I still love her, I won't forget her, but I think it is time to move on. I just ask Angel's permission to love her twin." I said.

"What did mom say?" She asks.

"She said that I'm a liar, that I just love her because she has the same face as her sister. Is it wrong to love her? Is it wrong to fall for her? Is it my fault? Is it wrong for me that I was unable to control what I am feeling?" I said.

"Dad, falling in love isn't whether you're right or wrong. Sometimes, you fall for someone you never expect to happen. Feelings are not machines you can control so easily. Feelings are free, and it's just that sometimes we fall for the right person, but wrong timing. Tell her that everything you feel about her is real, tell her that you're by her side to lean on, tell her that she and her sister are different, totally different." I can't believe that an 11 years old kid just told me about love, unbelievable.

"Thank you, Princess!" I stated.

"It's nothing. If giving you advice can help me repay for everything you and mom have done for me, I am more willing to say more. So Dad, stay here and think of everything I have told you, I'll check Mom for you, don't worry." She said and smiled at me. It really is time to move forward, step by step, and I'll always remember you, Angel. Thank you so much, and I will always love you, but I just found someone who I can love more than you, so forgive me.

Elix's Pov.

I went upstairs, and I found Mom resting inside their room. The door was slightly open, so I quietly walked in.

"Mom, can I talk to you?" I ask, I saw her lift her head and smile at me. Her smile may be bright and warm, but her eyes tell the opposite of it.

"What is it, Princess?" She said and patted the space near her, I walked to her and sat by her side.

"Are you hurt knowing that Dad loves you?" I ask her, she didn't answer me.

"Do you regret loving Dad?" I ask her again, hoping for an answer.

"No, I don't, but I know that he just sees my twin's face on me. That's why he said those things to me." She said.

"Mom, have you ever thought that everything Dad said is true?" I ask her, I maybe 11, but I know what love is, I may not have experienced it yet, but I love to read.

"Never, he loves her too much, to even love me, I'm sure." She stated.

"Mom, love isn't something you expect. It comes unexpectedly even if you tell your mind about it, but feelings can't never be controlled. Give Dad a chance. Maybe you can find the answer you are seeking for. I heard everything from Dad, so give him a chance to prove what he truly feels for you. Don't doubt his feelings for you. He had found the courage to face Auntie Angel and ask her permission to love you. Don't you think it's reasonable to give him this chance?" I exclaimed, I may just found this family recently, but I will do anything to keep them close to me and safe. I have grown to love and cherish this family for a short time, so I'll keep them close, and nothing can destroy it.

"I don't know, I just don't know. Loving him is like betraying my sister, I was the cause of her death, thus isn't right to just love him. I know how much my sister loves him, and I can't just replace myself in her position." She said. Oh my!

"Mom, we can't control who we love, we can't, ever. Loving someone is not a choice. You just fall for them, and then the more you deny your feeling, the harder you fall. Just think of it before it's too late, okay?" I told her and walked out of the room, I may not have experience in a love relationship, but I base it on loving my family.

Niles' Pov.

Which is right, should I believe his words? I went out of the room and walked straight down. There, I saw Sat sitting on the sofa in the living room, I didn't spare him a gaze and continued to walk to the kitchen. I don't know how to face him after what happened. It's just that I can't believe what he was telling me. I felt a presence behind me but didn't turn around because I knew who it was.

"Tania, can we talk for a minute and so?" I turned around to face him.

"What do you want to talk about?" I ask him.

"I'm not lying when I told you that I love you, I know that you won't believe me, but love trust me when I say that I want to stay by your side even if you don't return the feelings I have for you. Just let me stay by your side and love you, I'm not betraying Angel for you, I know that she will understand us and I also know that she wants us to move on with her in our memories. We will live for the life she can't have, we will be her momentum for her life, and we will always love and remember her for the rest of our lives. Please accept my sincere feelings for you." I don't know what to say. My tears are falling continuously, and I can't stop it. I walked to him and hugged him, I couldn't say anything, I couldn't stop crying, I didn't know what to say.

He raised my chin to face him, and as our eyes connected each other, I saw him smile, a smile that not everyone could see every day.

"I love you and will always stay by your side even if you don't need me anymore." He said.

"Thank you for loving me. Can you wait for me?"

"I will always wait for you no matter what, I promise. I know that promises are meant to be broken, but my promise for you will mend you, and I'll do my best to achieve my promise to you." Sat said, I just hug him.
