CHAPTER ZERO: how they met .

✢ Seven Years Ago ✢

IN GOTHAM CITY who knows who you can trust. The city is filled with dangerous crimes and thugs. You can never let your gaurd down. At least that's what Melody Noblezada believed.

She quietly sipped her water bottle in the school's library. She knew no food or drinks was aloud, but she simply didn't care.

"Where is he.." Melody whispered to herself while looking at her watch. She was waiting for her partner to study the project. She didn't want to be out too late where she has to go home in the dark.

All of the sudden a loud slam was heard in front of her by a book. She looked north to see no other then the famous Damian Wayne. Her brown orbs met with his emerald green ones.

"Hi." Melody simply said in a quiet tone.

"Hello. Shall we get started?" Damian asked a little rudely. Melody simply nodded and opened her text book.

Both Damian and Melody walked out the library side by side.

Melody was a little nervous being by him because he was one of the most popular and richest sons in Gotham. His father was a billionaire while her mom was a nurse and her dad was a music teacher.

While he was popular he was also a rude.

"Do you need me to walk you home?" Damian asked her. This brought Melody out her thoughts.

"Huh?"

"Do you need me to walk you home?" He repeated a little annoyed.

"O-Oh! No it's fine. Thank you though." Melody smiled she then saw a limo ride up the the two of them.

"I'll take my leave then. Bye. Have a good night." Melody waved off before walking away.

Damian watched her figure drift away before leaning down to the window of the car.

"Alfred. I'll be walking."

"Alright master Damian."

The stars glistened in the night sky. Even if during the day, the sky seemed grey and gloomy night-time you saw the best scenery, minus villians and gangs.

Melody hated the thought of being alone, she found true comfort while being with another person but she didn't want to feel like a burden.

Her parents offered to pick her up after but she declined. Melody was a big girl so she could handle a simple task like walking home at night.

She had her handy-dandy pepper spray in her purse and she took Karate.

(only for 1 year because she sprained her wrist so she wasn't that skilled. Half of her training came from the movie "Karate Kid".)

Her movement slowed down when she heard footsteps turned the corner of the alleyway she was going. She glanced at the ground quickly and saw the shadow which was probably a tall man.

Suddenly they touched her shoulder and faster then the Flash, Melody whipped out her pepper spray and sprayed it in someone's eyes.

Damian's eyes.

Damian sat on top of the bathroom sink with red watery eyes. Beside him you can hear "Beautiful Soul" by Jesse McCartney.

Melody hummed the tune of the song before dabbing a wash cloth to damian's eyes using the treatment that google instructed.

Currently both 18 year olds were at a corner store in the family bathroom trying to get the pepper spray out damian's eyes.

"I can't believe you did that..." Damian mumbled.

"Yeah, maybe I should've found house kicked you instead.." Melody replied sarcastically. "In my defense you snuck up on me. I thought you were a thief or a rapist."

"I guess that was wrong on my part..." Damian said quietly but Melody was able to hear it.

"I'm sorry by the way." Melody apologized feeling a little guilty.

"It's alright. If I did so happen to be a rapist I would want you to make them go blind." Damian explained. Melody did a small giggle before looking up at him.

Up-close Damian could see (with the vision he had left) her attractive features. Her curly eyelashes made her brown eyes stand out. Though her skin was tan you could see a tint of pink on her cheeks and the tip of her nose. Her lips were plump and glossy.

Deep down Damian wonder what her lips would feel like on his, but he quickly disregarded that thought.

"I think I got what I could for now." Melody spoke. "Can you see okay? I'm not sure how long the effects last."

"I'll be fine." Damian replied. He's been hurt alot worst. He then stood up from the sink.

"Is it okay if I walk you home now?" Damian asked.

"Are you sure? What about your eyes..." Melody answered.

"I've been through worst. It's late and I rather you be home safe." Damian explained. This caused a blush to creep onto Melody's cheeks. Even though she basically assaulted is eye sight he still worried about her safety.

"Okay."
