Chapter 2

Meghan's POV

"I can't believe you are finally 18!" my best friend, Debby squealed " Do you know what that means, Meghan?........ you are gonna find your mate very soon!! " gushed Debby bouncing on my bed

I rolled my eyes at my best friend, she's batshit crazy

Debby has found her mate already, guess who that is.....David! , the future beta , lucky bitch. I'm so happy for her though, a mate is a gift from the moon goddess herself, your other half, now why wouldn't I be happy for her?
Besides I can't deal with a brooding Debby.

Debby was five months older than me, figures. We've been best friends for almost seven years. Even though she's such a 'girl' ,I cant imagine my life without her, that girl sticks up for me, why not? She's bold, unlike me. Who can blame her though, she's a ball of sunshine!

That explains why she's screaming my head off, because I turned 18 yesterday, haha funny, I get it, she wants the best for me.

I couldn't have asked for a better best friend

"Yay! Lucky me" I said sarcastically

"C'mon, Meghan aren't you excited to meet your mate?"

Yeah! What if I'm one of those that don't find their mates

"Of course, I want a mate but I don't wanna get my hopes up, what if I don't meet him?, what if he rejects me?, what if he's already dead?, what if...."

"Oh, don't be silly Meghan" Debby cut me off " you're rambling again, gosh! You are giving yourself unnecessary fears, everything would be fine"

Now that put a smile on my face, oh what would I do without you Debby.

Suddenly.....
My door bursts open, making me and Debby jump, revealing a slightly sweaty Josie, my second best friend.
Looks like she just ran a cross-continent marathon, who knows?she's a werewolf

"What's the matter Josie, my heart literarily dropped to my feet" Debby said holding her chest. I just rolled my eyes at the ever dramatic Debby

"You guys won't believe what I just heard" Josie gushed strolling to take a seat by the window. " The alpha's son Nathaniel just left the pack to search every pack in the US"

" What's so surprising Josie? He's probably off searching for his mate. No need to be as dramatic as Debby, I can't handle two drama queens" I said, laughing at the face Josie was making.

"Hey!" Whined Debby thwacking my forehead

"Ouch!" I exclaimed rubbing my head

" that's what you get for calling me a drama queen" Debby huffed

"When you guys are done arguing let me know, in as much as I wanna wipe some sense into Meghan head for calling me a drama queen, cause hey! I'm an amazing badass" Debby was rolling her eyes at Josie now..." I want you guys to know that Nathaniel actually went out to search for his parents, they were kidnapped! "
