We waked into the dark shrine, me going first. At first it was really dark, but as I walked farther in, There were places in the ceiling where it was cracked and light from the Silverslow poured through, lighting up pillars of stone and old paintings that I had remembered. This was the birthplace of every Wanderer, where I started to exist also, those many years ago. For Mary.
This place reminded me of Mary. She would have loved it here. Not just the paintings, but the architecture also. She traveled all the way from one end of the country to the other, just to look at buildings and stuff for school. She would love this place for its spirit.
"W-w-well, then." Said Fallout, peering into a gap in the wall. "Umm... I think you'll want to see this."
Peering in next to Fallout, the room was bright, light made every angle visible in the room I immediately recognized. It was the room in the middle of the shrine, where everyone opened their eyes. But bits of rock were everywhere.
And there was no statue in the middle.
The gap was big enough for Fallout to slip through, but just small enough to keep me out.
I ran around to the other side, jumping through the old, silver doors. What I saw in the crack was true - the Crystal Cocoon was broken into hundreds of pieces, parts of it everywhere on the floor.
I head Fallout's voice, near the door, nervous, "Where are you?"
"I'm in here, the room we saw."
She slithered in, darting over as soon as she saw me.
"What happened here?" She whispered.
I was speechless, seeing the most important place in our realm destroyed. This was the place where we all came into existence, none of our kind would have done this. But who else could?
Fallout floated forward, amazed at all the shards of rock everywhere. In the center, where all the crystals were supposed to be, was a small cavity, dark, and surrounded by crystals. Stepping closer beside Fallout, careful not to get anything in my paws, I saw the crystals that were inside were GLOWING.
"What do you think is this?" whispered Fallout in my ear, barely understandable.
"I have no clue." I whispered back, my throat tight. There was a tunnel, dark, and prints of some large four legged thing had walked into it, definitely not a Wanderer. "Look."
She noticed the prints on the ground.
"They have claws who ever they are, and a tail."
"Look, and the crystals glow in the dark. That could be useful."
My anger hardened.
"Let's take some to find whoever did this."
