They had a metal like body, but with a normal human face. However, that face was the same color of her metal body. A blood - red diamond in her forehead, and dark red eyelids. The eyes were closed however. It was always closed. She had dark eyebrows with the same color as her hair. Long and semi - curly, to the waist. On her back, was the color of the crimson splitjaw she rode on earlier, the colors were more visible up close. Bright yellow tips instead of damp, dark yellow; damp red mixed with shades of blue. Inside of the coat was a pale purple - pink that only appeared in sunsets, the coat drooped to the ground, dragging on the floor on the back of her. "Turns out we got it wrong. The crimson splitjaw has a more damp color of yellow." She nodded, and pointed to the yellow tips of the coat. She then turned to a tunnel, with the "human inventions" cave. She turned to the table, and sat down on the sturdy mushroom chair. They picked up the ingredients for a meal. Potatoes, water, edible ferns, fish, and... They turned to see her coming up, metal - like plates in their hands. She dipped her head in thanks and took the metal plates. "Cooked fish?" She said, as while picking up the wood. They said nothing as she stood up and walked over to their cooking table. The cooking table was made out of stone, as she had modified them by using her robot - like metal. It had leaves to decorate it, and on the table were edible mushrooms, a small pile of diced ferns, and something that she stole from a household not too long ago. One was white and had a sharp taste to it, if you add it too much. The other was black and brown, a bit like ashes, which had a dislikable taste. However, by using it correctly, it could have a tremendously different effect on the meal. She put the wood on the cooking table and turned around. She was already holding the human invention; something in bright bold letters and had a circular and skinny outline on the tiny box. She picked two of the supposed outline material and took the box gently. They swiped quickly on the side of the box, which, made her rethink about the humans that lived on top of the abyss edge. Were they stupid or a genius? The flame on the tiny material; as she threw it on the wood. She did the same procedure to the next and watched as the flame grew a bit more bigger. She turned and walked to the metal plate, and went to the fish and water. They poured the water in the metal plate and turned to her friend, as she gave her the carved stone structure; which could surprisingly hold up a metal plate and can stand on top of the cooking table. They took the the structure and settled it on the cooking table, over the burning wood. She put the plate on top of it and let it shimmer for a bit. She sat down and waited for a bit, also taking the white and ashy things along with her. She looked around for a small wood bowl and grabbed one just around the corner. They shook the container containing the white, aa they fell into the bowl. She shook for two seconds as she then added a few ashy - like specks into it. She sniffed the bowl with the ingredients and stood up, putting them to the side as she saw the water beginning to warm. She took the fish and put a few materials near to handle it. They went and cut the pieces, staring with the head, body, then tail. She put the fish in the metal plate and decided to wait for a minute. She turned to her friend and nodded. She walked away while the other took control of the cooking. She sat back down at the mushroom table, and sighed. They've been living together for a while ever since she'd saved her at the upside-downy tree layer. She'd so thought that was her death. Unfortunately, she have received a few injuries from the fall to make her immobile for a few days or so. Her companion seemed to be almost silent, maybe mute, and seemed to have really poor eyesight. One day while they were out exploring for places they could live in, she'd have tripped over a semi-small rock; not once, but three times. When she'd have asked her if she could see properly, her shiny companion only pointed to the middle of her head and continued walking, almost falling over another rock. She'd helped out around the area a bit since then.
"Oh, it's ready."
Since she founded her new form, her sense of smells and sights have never been better. From the scent of the food, her partner had the food ready. The humanoid creature walked over with the cooked fish and set them down on the makeshift table. They walked over to the other side of the table and sat down, waiting for them to say their thanks. Using her fluffy paws, she ate it slowly while taking in the flavor. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't great either. Edible though, through and through. Her other companion was handling it quite well. The curse of the abyss. Were they handling it well? She had many questions to ask her, but it wasn't really the time. They had only known each other since the tree-falling accident, but neither had turned on the other yet. She thought it was only a matter of time. Turning her attention back to her circular disk that held the food, she stood up and walked over to the small stream of water flowing in the floor. It was very unique, a small pond near the cooking station, while countless streams flowed through the ground. Putting her plate in the pond, she looked at the flowing gunk from the plate washing down and down along the streams. The experience was very mesmerizing, but it somehow seemed familiar. Then again, her memory was always scrambled after the cup-pond place. She had never figured out what had happened before that.
.
She turned around quickly, grabbing her hood and pulling it over her head. There was someone here. Her instinct at first was to run and hide anywhere, but with her new companion and how late she noticed the scent, that wasn't possible. What was left was to spectate the person, or people, and send them running off back. She went outside, concealing the entrance to her safety area and simply crouched underneath some over-grown plants. Using her abnormal abilities, she closed her eyes and listened.
"I'm telling you, I saw something over here!"
"You idiot, this is far below our normal depth! What if they catch us?"
"Relax, this is only a few couple feet from the depth we usually go down. It's not like there will be a special creature lying in wait for us."
"Be careful watch you say. The abyss is a cruel place."
Human children. Human children was in the abyss. How unkind. Her first thought was to let them continue. But her second held her first back. What if they couldn't go up? She'd learnt about the curse by walking through the villages. They could've easily gone to the second layer, and gotten heavy nausea. However, before she could crouch out, a voice from behind spoke loud and clear.
"We caught you!"
"That was easier than I thought!"
"Hooray for Moxi!"
She didn't wanna look back. She knew what was behind her, but the dreaded thought of being captured by human children petrified her. But she did so anyway, and behind her was standing three human children, all wide-eyed and bushy-tailed.
