The next day Ellie got up early to help her mom get the food ready before their family got there. They have already been cooking food for a few hours whenever the doorbell rang.
" They're already here? I'm not even ready yet!" Clara said while she made the salad. Ellie chuckled as she wiped the flour off of her hands with a towel that was on the kitchen island. " I'll open the door."
She walked over to the door and opened it, revealing her aunt, uncle and cousins. Her aunt Breelan smiled at her. " How's my favorite niece doing?"
Elile chuckled. " I'm your only niece."
Breelan shrugged her shoulders. " That's true." she said and Ellie stepped to the side, letting them walk inside and as Andrew walked down the stairs.
" Hey, family!" Andrew greeted.
" Andy!" the cousins yelled excitedly and ran over to Andrew. Andrew laughed and fell back on the stairs as they hugged him, pretending that they knocked him over. " You guys are so strong now! You can probably beat me at wrestling now."
" You bet we can!" Oliver grinned while his twin brother nodded in agreement. " Yeah, we're this old now which means we're stronger than you." his twin brother, Owen, said as he showed Andrew five fingers.
Andrew chuckled and nodded. " Yeah, that does mean you're stronger."
" You boys aren't getting into trouble are ya?" Sawyer, Andrew's and Ellie's uncle, asked as he stepped inside and closed the door behind him while Breelan went into the kitchen to help her sister and Ellie finish cooking.
" Not yet!" Owen grinned.
" Okay, good." Sawyer said. " Andy, make you sure keep them in line."
" Yes, sir." Andrew chuckles as he salutes.
" So, my sister has been telling me you're the lead of a play? Did I hear her right or am I going death?" Breelan asked Ellie as she put on an apron.
Ellie nodded. " Yeah, you heard her right. I wasn't going to audition for it, but my friend got me to audition."
" She's talking about Ricky." Clara joined in with a smirk on her face and Ellie rolled eyes.
Breelan raised an eyebrow. " Now I'm interested. Please do tell."
" Ricky is her friend that got her to audition for it and is also the one playing Troy." Clara explained and Ellie couldn't help the blush that was forming on her face. " Can we not talk about this right now? Like can we talk about how Dexter isn't here?"
" You know he isn't here because he's spending Thanksgiving with his family." Clara told her and Ellie sighed.
" What? No, we are talking about this. I'm around boys all the time and I miss hanging out with girls and talking about girl stuff." Breelan sighed as she got the bread out of the oven whenever it dinged.
" Fine." Ellie caved in. " I think I might like him, I even went to homecoming with him and it was great, like really great and I think maybe he might like me too, but the problem is one of my friends is his ex girlfriend and I just don't want things to be weird between us."
Breelan nodded. " That could be a problem. But if your friend knows about your feelings for him and is okay with that, then your friend should be happy for you. Have you told your friend about your feelings for him?"
Ellie shook her head. " Nope." she said, popping the ' p' in the word as she leaned against the counter, watching her mom and aunt do the last finishing touches on the food. " I wanna tell her, but I don't know how she's going to react to it."
