Delilah's POV

We were sitting there in the park stretched out on a blanket enjoying the sunny day. Everything seemed perfect today. Then suddenly, he turned to face me with a serious look on his face.
"Delilah... I need to tell you something." I looked at him and the butterflies I got when I looked at him started up, but aside from that, I felt that what he was about to tell me was bad news. I put on my best poker face.
"What is it?" He sighed and rubbed his temples. Then the next words that came from his mouth broke me to a million pieces.
"Delilah... I can't be with you any longer. I don't love you and I never did. I just used you to get the person I really wanted. To be honest, these 3 years have been nothing but torture with you and I can't do it no more. So bye." He gave me a kiss on the cheek and left. He never turned back. I sat there trying to process everything that just happened. Was I in a dream? Did I really mean nothing to him?
I got up, picked up the blanket we were using and marched to my car. I drove home and went straight to my room. I lay in my bed staring straight at the ceiling. Then I felt something wet on my face. I reached up and it was water. I was crying... Then more drops fell from my eyes until I was a balling mess on my bed. I reached for the picture of me and him on my bedside drawer and held it against my chest as I cried. He left me... He really left me...

***********************************

I woke up and I could feel the tears on my face. The tears I always find there when I dream of that horrendous day. The day when I lost myself really.

I looked over at my clock and saw that it was time for me to get up. I went to my bathroom and took a warm shower. Then put on a pair of blue skinny jeans and a black hoodie. I straightened my fringe and left the rest of my hair in its natural waves. I pulled on a pair of black vans and went to my desk to grab makeup. I only wore mascara.

I went downstairs to see my sister having breakfast.

Ten minutes later, we were on our way to school. I got out of my car when we got there and went to my locker. I turned around to head to the library when I bumped into someone and dropped my books.

"Oh my God! I'm sorry I didn't mean to do that... clumsy me." I bent down to pick up my books and the person I bumped into did the same, helping me pick up my things. When we were done, I looked up to thank the kind person only to stop and look into the most beautiful blue eyes I've ever seen. I looked away and stood up as did he.

"Its not your fault, I wasn't paying attention to where I was walking. It's my fault." His deep voice sent shivers down my spine. He was tall. He had pail skin and black hair that covered most of his eyes. He was lean and not very muscular, but I didn't mind.

"Okay... um thanks for helping me pick up my books. I'm just gonna go now." I turned to walk away, but his hand reached out and grabbed my wrist.

"Um... I'm Luke. Do you remember me?" I looked at him confused. Luke...? I don't know a Luke...

"Sorry... I don't remember... um.. are you new here? He got the look of disappointment on his face but as soon as it came it went away and his face turned serious.

"No... I'm not new here. I've lived here my whole life... um.. I'll just go." He walked off and I stood there confused. I've never seen him before so how does he know me? Why would I know him? I just shrugged and walked off to the library. Maybe he mistook me for someone else.

Luke's POV

I turned and saw as she just stood there confused and walked off towards the library. I sighed and walked to my first class. I can't believe she didn't remember me... I guess that's what popularity did to you. It made you forget your old friends and only pay attention to your new friends.

I remember her perfectly... Delilah... my Delilah. We used to be best friends as children. We played in the park together while our mother's would sit and talk. I told her everything and she told me everything. We were inseparable. That all changed though.

During the summer after 6th grade, she just stopped hanging out with me. She moved houses and even though we still went to the same schools, she never paid attention to me. My mom never talked about Delilah's mom which was strange.

Delilah started hanging out with the popular kids since she made the soccer team. She even dated this prick for 3 years straight. I could tell he didn't deserve her love and kindness. She was too good for him.

I sat down in my seat and got ready for class. No one was in here yet since the bell hadn't rang yet. I pulled out my sketch pad and drew what came to mind. By the time the bell rang, I had finished it. I drew a picture of Delilah sitting on the grass staring up at the sky. She loved to do that. She loved staring up at the sky and imagine that she were a cloud in the sky, floating free.

I put my sketch pad away as the students and teacher came in.

This is going to be a very long day...
