Kara's POV
"Is everything ready for our event?" Michie, the president of our student council, asked with a gentle smile formed on her lips.
"Everything's been settled. All we need now is to prepare the food, and for the audience to come." I said as I handed her the long checklist of the event preparations I'd handled.
"Great, now we can all relax and enjoy the event we've planned!" Alex said as she stood up to hug every one of us. Planning this event of ours was a bit nerve-wracking, but we, with our hard work and determination, managed to finish it.
"Enjoy your date then." I teased, as soon as she finished hugging all five of us. Her fair face turned beet red, as we giggled at her embarrassment. She quickly covered her face with her hands, and slump back in her seat.
Everyone deserves to enjoy themselves today. Some of us are just luckier than others. How nice would it be to spend the entire day of hard work with someone you love?
"Bully!" She retorted as she took her hands off her face, only to glare at me. Michie, ran the order of the event to us one last time, then we chatted for a while.
"Kara, we better get going!" Diane yelled as she pointed at her watch. It was almost 3 o'clock, and the event starts at 6 p.m.
Their attention was suddenly focused on me and Diane "Already?" Rhian asked with a hint of sadness used in her tone. Most of our council members looked a bit disappointed, and I couldn't blame them. Lately, we've been having less and less time for each other, since the event we are currently handling requires our full attention. This is the first time in four weeks that we've gathered and chatted not as council members but as friends.
"Well, the desserts won't make themselves, you know?" I said as I let out a small chuckle. I watched them nod twice all at the same time. Although they agreed, the sadness on their faces was still clearly visible.
"This is our last event as the college student body." Lauren said, as her lips formed a sad smile. The event that we are throwing is a farewell event for us, the future graduates. Our batch truly loves music, so we decide to throw a Band Clash. But this band clash is like a party for us students. We want everyone to have fun, so we decided to put an all-you-can-eat sweet buffet.
I let out a sigh, then I felt their eyes shift toward me. "Come over after an hour. The first batch of desserts goes to our hard work." I saw their faces lit up one by one. Diane, on the other hand, looked at me with what-if-they-eat-everything look.
"Really?!" They stood up and tried to hug us all together.
"Just don't eat everything!" Diane warned, as she looked at each one of them in the eyes.

Everything's nearly done. Time check it's quarter to six. All that's left is to transfer the desserts from the kitchen to the buffet.
"The two of you should change." Michie said, of Diane and me, as she took the tray of cookies. "We'll handle this" she reassured us with a smile before she left the kitchen.
"Change?" Rhian asked, curiosity present at the tone of her voice. All of a sudden her eyes lit up and sparkled, as she turned her attention towards Diane and me. "You guys are one of the bands that will play tonight, aren't you?!" she exclaimed, while Diane and I, only nodded. Because of her excitement, the others noticed us and started bombarding us with questions.
