The duo pulled up to the scene in the midst of night, the car was dark only lit up by the lights and buttons displayed in front of Caitlyn. The sheriff didn't dare turn on the headlights as they begun to wait for the criminals to show themselves. Caitlyn hated stakeouts they were so terribly boring but she was always a patient girl, she couldn't say that about Vi however as much as she hated to say so. Vi visibly began to grow more tired and bored overtime and shifted her position about once every 5 seconds it seemed to the dark haired officer. "Vi please settle down" she asked in a frustrated tone turning her head to look at the enforcer, "you're going to let everyone know we're here with all your squirming" she nearly barked at the pink haired woman. Vi felt her brows furrow in irritation and looked back at Caitlyn from her spot in the car, "listen you may be able to sit there and look pretty for an entire night without movin an inch but im not you Cait" she snapped back in an irritated tone. Caitlyn shook her head slightly and immediately her attention was drawn away from her real focus. "No you listen Vi" she started to speak turning to face her in the driver's seat of the car her face showing her angered emotion, "If im gonna sit here and take up the lead YOU brought to me you might as well act like an adult and deal with a little discomfort." she hissed at her partner and sighed sitting back down in her place with a huff. The outburst of the dark haired woman made Vi feel slightly bad for irritating her but even more so it made her angry in a way, how could someone be so bossy but so right at the same time? Vi hated this about her partner, how she could make a devilishly good point but put her in her place at the same time.
Hours past with little difference in the crime scene and Caitlyn found herself angry in the slow course of their efforts and groaned, they've been sitting in silence since their little argument and Caitlyn hated nothing more than silence. The sheriff hated to admit it but the squirming Vi had done earlier was more peaceful than the blatant silence emitting in the space they sat in. "Vi can you do something?" she asked her voice not wavering from its normal tone, it wasn't a plea and it wasn't fragile or weak. Vi turned to face her and shrugged "what do you want me to do about it?" she said harshly as if still mad about earlier, honestly though what could she do about them not showing it wasn't her call. Caitlyn sighed and shook her head, "No dumbass i mean about the quiet, can you make some noise?" she asked and then her voice lowered noting that she had begun to speak a bit loudly in that moment. The enforcer shrugged her shoulders yet again "whats the problem cupcake? Can't handle a bit of quiet i thought you practically lived in it with how much you hate me causing a commotion in the workplace" she almost complained to the dark haired woman as she sat up straight in the car. Caitlyn sighed as she listened to her words and tapped her fingers restlessly on the steering wheel, "Vi there is a vast difference between you blatantly causing a mess for me to clean up and a little chit chat in the break room" she said honestly and couldn't help but let a small laugh out at the thought. "You cant seem to tell the difference though" she muttered and calmed down her tone of voice. "To answer your question, no, silence is terrifying" she admitted with a slight frown leaning back against the seat of the car as well. Vi was surprised to hear her seemingly fearless partner talk about something so personal it wasn't like her to shed her thoughts like that around others, the enforcer was almost flattered to hear about her fears it was like a sudden want to be closer to the girl. "wow you trust me enough to actually let me in on something beyond work?" she asked in a teasing manner suddenly more energized than before, by now both woman had completely forgotten about their jobs and focused solely on each other and the conversation at hand. Caitlyn smiled and let her walls down in that moment something was so welcoming about Vi almost intoxicating if you will, something made her feel like everything was fine to tell her, fine to let her know, she was trustworthy of course they were partners but it was more than that. "Maybe you proved to me that your worth more than a stack of papers hm?" Caitlyn teased and once again the tension in the car began to rise this time faster than before and more intense.
