"I'm so sorry honey." My mom hugged me, she was crying too.

"Damn dog." I cried. "I told him too stay inside." I tried to move, but couldn't. Damn hospital bed.

My dog, Bear he was 13yrs old, I was told after my car flipped Bear ran out to me and pulled me out. He got stuck and the car blew up. Killed him instantly. I just got badly injured.

"He's in a-" my mom started.

"Don't finish that." I cried.

"I'm sorry honey."

**
We were at his funeral. He was being buried in the woods where I found him.

"I will never ever ever have a best friend like Bear. He was there when nobody was. So he was there a lot. I remember after school one day. I was crying and closed my door. He whimpered outside the door then he jumped up and open the door and came to me. Then another when I was 12 and got lost in the woods at 1 in the morning he came and found me, brought me home. He wasn't just a regular husky. He was heroic." I took a breath, I was shaking. "He was there for anybody. He knew when you were upset, happy, sad, excited, drunk even! I just realized he was what I needed my whole life. He taught me amazing things that I just realized were lessons. Damn, dog. I loved you." I was crying. My mom hugged me.

"Go on" she whispered.

I had one more thing to say.

"Thank you, Bear." I put the rose down oh his grave. My mom and I walked away on that rainy Wednesday.
