"Gotta stand my ground,
even if it rains or snows"Successful. They were successful. Comeback after comeback, they were able to maintain such streak, and here they were again - promoting their new release. Standing on the 'introduction' stage where the host let them show a bit of their handwork (it just so happens that Doyoung was a host).
Before the lights turn on the director asks them to set in-place. The cameras were off for a few minutes before they do start airing. Some were getting their make-up retouched, others closed their eyes and whispered their lines for preparation.
He smiles urgently at Jaehyun as he talks about his current fascination in the scientific world: of magnets and its magnetic field. Not that he wasn't quite listening (it sure looked like he didn't), but the topic had long been subdued in the olden school days. The myriad of words that spew out of Jaehyun's glossed lips come out muffled - as if there were cotton balls in his mouth for the sake of it. Then when he thinks he finally looses all focus, it returns.
"--------possites attract because of that. . . "
His eyes take a curious peek at the younger before opening both at the same time. He omits a low hum and goes back to paying attention to something his member finds interest in.
It strikes him the longer Jaehyun fondly remembers the things he learned from that one book in the backroom; it strikes him as to why he (suddenly) awoke from boredom when he said such words. Childish, truly childish, so childish that he reddens a little when he has figured it out.
Opposites attract
Doyoung comes in time to stop him, holding out a spare microphone, he hands it first to Taeyong who pushes it forth to Jaehyun - he tries to make mild of his little blush. When the latter finds that he'd be standing for nothing, sighing, he takes the voice enhancer from Doyoung's hands and holds unto it.
From the back, the director makes a motion to prepare them for the start in five seconds. They start.
Three people step forward, Mark in the middle starts talking for a little while - of chunks and information. Taeyong notices the camera zoom-in before all three hosts of the day celebrate with confetti and a small victorious shout of: "Cherry Bomb!"
The camera now pans out and he's reminded of their practiced introduction. A bow and their signature finger sign were brought way to show to the camera and people who were watching - up until now, it was still so refreshing.
"Johnny-ssi----" huh. No. He stands his ground firmly and is believed to not be moving, his heart's erratic movement makes up for it even for a millennium of time.
It was that husky voice (that he may or may not be flustered from) that never fails to entrance him, pulling him deeper and deeper that only heartbreak can save.
He realizes this because? Because they stand here now, on the grounds of an idol - unforbiding, sporadic, and always under a microscope.
Taeyong feels, no, he knows Haechan speaks next but that was under deaf ears. Then Doyoung, then Jaehyun, then ---
"Jisoo-ssi." Jaehyun speaks only of his lines - although the boy is always very genuine - but something sparks within Taeyong that he hides behind fixed posture and innocent neutral expression. But he doesn't forget (as any responsible leader does) and he does what he thinks is the best way to showcase he doesn't care - he beatboxes.
