"Marry me?" Whispered Ariadne who looked so beautiful lying in her white silk dress with her black curled hair perfectly still.
Am I going delirious? Did this actually just happen? The Queen of Atlantis, Queen Ariadne, who is the most beautiful girl I've ever seen has asked to marry me? Me! But I'm a simple boy nothing more than a peasant. How am I going to be able to be the king of Atlantis and follow in the footsteps of great men such as Minos and so many others? Ariadne said herself that the nobles of Atlantis will seek to prevent our union. The reason being is that I am not of royal blood, I have no money, I don't even own a house! Yet I have never met a girl like her. I'll do anything, be anything for her. I'll travel to Hades and back in order to protect her. I love her and she loves me. Our love is eternal. I would gladly give up my life for her.
"I know you may not feel as you did before, after how I behaved." Said Ariadne, her face concerned.
"No it's not that" I said, confused why Ariadne should be apologising when she did nothing wrong.
"Then what is it?" Asked Ariadne, her face worried and curious.
"It's just shock!" I said, smiling, "You know, it's not every day your Queen asks you to marry her!" I said.
"Give me your answer when you're ready." Said Ariadne.
"I'm ready now." I replied, causing Ariadne's face to light up with joy.
I leaned forward and we kissed. The kiss was like nothing I've ever experienced. I can't believe this is happening. Ariadne had tears escaping from her eyelids and I quickly wiped them away and kissed her again and again and again.
