say your goodbyes

i woke up wrapped in alejandros arms. i slowly tried to escape his grip, trying my best not to wake him up.

i grabbed my phone and saw i had a missed text from mattia.

mattia polibio
m- hey
a- hey, we still on for the beach?
m- about that
m- something happened
m- its alvaro
a- are they okay????
m- yea
m- but they're leaving
a- leaving??
m- just get here, bring kai and ale

i shook alejandro to wake him up.

"what? are we late?" alejandro sat up quickly.

"no, mattia texted me. we have to get to his house." i said, grabbing a pair of sweatpants and putting them on along with my flip flops. i already had a tank top on.

"why?" alejandro asked, getting up aswell, and putting a shirt on.

"something with alvaro and roshuan. mattia said.. he's leaving? i don't know."

i banged on my wall as i brushed my hair.

"kai get up and get dressed!" i yelled through the wall

"ready?" i asked ale.

"yeah i'll drive." he said.

we walked out of my room and i walked into kairis room, as he was about to walk out of it.

"did mattia call you?" he asked. 

"yeah, lets go alejandros driving." i said.

we all walked out to alejandros car and got in. without hesitation, he started driving to mattias.

alvaros car was there.

we all got out of the car and walked into mattias house. then, we made our way to his room.

first, i saw mattia. his eyes were glassy, he looked like he just hit rock bottom.

then, i saw alvaro. he looked a bit down, but didn't seem as upset as mattia. next to alvaro was roshuan, who showed the same emotions as alvaro.

"what's going on?" kairi asked.

"we're leaving early." alvaro said, looking at all of us.

i felt my heart sank. i didn't want alvaro and roshuan to leave. is this how it's going to feel when everyone leaves.

"why are you guys leaving early?" i asked.

"pre season soccer."

"you got on the team?" alejandro cheered at the two boys. 

"yeah." alvaro smiled.

"no shit guys! congratulations! when do you guys leave?" kairi asked.

"today, we didn't know how to say it." roshaun replied.

the room was filled with excitement. i just dont handle change well. i looked over to mattia, it seemed like he was just as down as me.

"okay well, i'll see you guys for the holidays." alvaro smiled.

"best of luck until then boys and girl." roshaun laughed.

we all gathered together for a group hug and said our goodbyes. it hurt. i wasn't ready for college.

i was currently sitting in my room alone in my bra and underwear, listening to music. it's been a few hours since alvaro and roshaun left.

i had been down all day. i couldn't help but think how sad it's gonna be when we have to leave.

i heard a knock at my door.

"yeah?" i asked, grabbing a big tshirt and throwing it on.

"can i come in?" the person asked, it was mattia.

"yeah, mattia." i said.

he walked through the door, his eyes still glassy like earlier.

"i'm not ready." he said softly.

"me either." i replied.

"it's just scary." he said, sitting down on the end of my bed.

"i know. we've all been bestfriends for as long as we can remember. and now we just have to leave eachother." i said, putting my face down.

"i could tell you were really upset this morning." he said.

"i know, i could tell you were too." i said, my eyes watering up.

"everything's gonna be okay, i promise." mattia smiled, giving me a soft hug.

"i hope so." i replied as he got up.

"i just had to check on you, face to face, ya know."

"thank you, mattia."

"just.. do me and favor and don't tell ale i was here okay?" he said, without making eye contact.

"uh, yeah okay." i said. i didn't like to keep things from ale.

"i'll see you later, kid." mattia said softly as he walked out of my room.

my brain felt like it was going to explode. all i could think about was all the new friends alvaro and roshuan were about to make. then me and kairi will make new friends, mattia and ale too.

i didn't wanna think about it anymore, so i layed my head down on my pillow until i fell asleep.
