beyond the letters: three

what now?

Graduation was well, graduation. You couldn't quite say that it went great, I mean you were leaving behind all of your best friends so of course you weren't ecstatic. On the other hand though, you were finally graduating and now further down the path to helping your family. Putting all that aside, it was nice to finally be out of high school.

Instantly after the ceremony, you, Aiko, Eita, Ushijima, and Tednou all gave into your parents demands and took some normal graduation pictures as a group. Once your parents were satisfied with the look of the actually decent ones, you and your friends were given creative freedom.

That's where it got funny.

The pictures you guys took ranged from everyone hanging off of Ushijima like a jungle gym, to having all the guys propose to a corresponding girl (with the help of Kaito joining in).

It was basically just a time for you guys to goof off and get creative with your pictures. Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves, everyone except Tendou that is. It wasn't like he seemed like he was having a necessarily bad time, he just seemed a bit off.

You brushed it off for a little while, but as you guys were about to part ways and get ready to re-group and Aiko's, you decided to ask him about it.

"You've been awfully quiet Tendou..." You mentioned once the rest of your friends had left and it was just you two walking.

"Awe, so you do notice when something's wrong!" He retorted, trying to change the topic.

"Of course I do! It's kind of hard not to when any other time you'd be constantly bothering me." You respond, lightly smacking his shoulder. "But seriously, what's wrong?"

"Nothing, I promise. Just a bit nervous is all.." He answered, scratching the back of his neck.

"Nervous? Tendou we already graduated! You have nothing to worry about!" You tell him with a smile.

"Satori." He blurted, clearly shocking himself as well as you.

"Hm?" You question, tilting your head to the side a bit.

"Why don't you call me Satori? You already call Semi by his first name, and I've heard you call Ushijima "Wakatoshi-kun" on multiple occasions, so why don't you call me Satori?" He explained a bit more, making you let out a small laugh.

"I only call Eita by his first name because he's my cousin, and "Wakatoshi-kun" is a rare occurrence for me.I don't call you Satori because we're constantly bickering. I promise it isn't a personal thing." You answer with a small smile.

"Yea okay but, are we really us if we aren't arguing? So I just thought we'd be close enough for you to call me Satori." You look down for a bit, trying to play this off as smoothly as you can, ignoring how hard your heart is beating in your chest.

"Okay." You replied, looking back up at him.

"Okay?" He questioned the lack of information in your reply.

"Okay I'll call you by your first name. You still annoy me to no end though." You clarify with a small laugh.

"How could you ever let me forget." Tendou's voice is clearly sarcastic, making your smile just a bit wider.

"Better not forget it. I'll see you later Satori." You told him with a wave, walking over to where your mom was waiting for you.
