Introduction

Hello everyone, it's Val and I decided to add an introduction/preface chapter to this book.  Well, let's dive right in!

Why is this work mature?
Most of my works touch upon sensitive issues such as abuse (domestic, substance, emotional, physical to name a few types). This particular book will contain sex, mental health issues, misogyny and rape. It will also contain gore and torture. 

Warnings
Once upon a time, I was a writer who cared very much about providing lengthy warnings when they were needed but I realized those warnings were either annoyingly detailed and irked readers, or they were completely disregarded which resulted in triggered and traumatized readers. So, I will state this once and for all. THIS WORK IS MATURE! Also, warnings will come before the chapter starts but they will be brief like This chapter contains violence.

What is this book about?
This book is an Eastern fantasy but not really like the Chinese novels (which inspired me). The book contains immortals, cultivators, martial arts, deities, Demons and celestial beasts. In my world, immortals can die but their deaths are not like human deaths and they only die by the hands of other immortals, themselves or old age. They rarely die because of natural phenomena.

This is the first book in its series: Snowy Blade, Icy Shield (SBIS for short because I'm lazy). It has been rewritten about thrice but I hope this is the last time because I really want to finish this story. My easily unsatisfied self is my worst enemy. So, this book is for introducing characters, the world and a budding relationship between the main couple.

Disclaimers
This is my own world but it takes basic concepts from the vast world of Wuxia and Xianxia plus Chinese fantasy dramas. If there is something you do not understand, ask and I will answer using a 165+ page document I have just for world-building. I also hope to patch up plot holes once and for good.

I always use Google Translate to include translated words and phrases so sometimes, it is a little off or completely wrong. If you spot a translation that is incorrect, please point it out. If you notice any error, also point it out. I admit, I rarely edit so what I put out is mostly raw. If you notice any error in my works, feel free to tear it apart for I have thick skin and I try to improve wherever I can.
